Amazing hotel! It was very comfortable, and the staff especially were incredibly kind, welcoming and always willing to help. The hotel’s location is perfect—it’s close to everything, making it very convenient to explore the area. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting.

We had an amazing stay!
The hotel is beautiful, stylish, spotlessly clean and every detail is of the highest quality. Our room was exceptionally well equipped, with everything you could possibly need, including a well-stocked minibar, coffee and tea facilities, and many thoughtful extras. The room amenities and bath products were all of excellent quality.
The location is perfect, right in the heart of Ghent, with all the main attractions within easy walking distance. The hotel also offers convenient parking nearby upon request, which is a great advantage when visiting the city.
The staff truly made our stay special. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming and always happy to help.
Even after breakfast hours had ended, they gladly prepared a delicious breakfast for us, including freshly cooked eggs topped with truffle. That level of hospitality is truly exceptional and something you rarely experience.
The warm atmosphere and genuine friendliness made us feel completely at home. We can't wait to come back.

Beautifully converted building, authentically furnished. Great staff, fantastic cocktail lounge, very pleasant breakfast. Room was well dimensioned, quiet, very comfortable and with great aircon in the hot weather. Super-central location to explore Ghent on foot.

We expected more and better living area in a duplex. Living area had nowhere comfortable to rest and was a wasted space - just somewhere to hang your clothes and get dressed. Also having WC on different level to bedroom is not ideal.
Comfortable room with good temperature control. I loved the style and decor of the interior of the hotel the room. Understanding the small size of the room makes additions difficult, it would have been nice to have a chair with a back rather than a stool. I had to work from my room and a chair would have been more useful. The Honesty Bar is wonderful.
We always enjoy our time at 1898 The Post. The service is excellent. The rooms are clean, quiet, beautifully adorned, and spacious. The staff is helpful and friendly.
This is one of those rare hotels where you instantly feel glad you came. Lovely building, perfectly appointed rooms, a fabulous bar, and "above and beyond" service. Our mistake was in booking only one night - you'll want at least three.

Loved this hotel! Beautifully maintained rooms that felt more like a flat than a cold hotel. Central location. Friendly staff. Excellent cocktails at The Cobbler. Sitting next to the canal at The Terrace was also a nice way to start an evening. Highly recommend.
