Simply an extraordinary hotel. A rustic and elegant experience inside a serene garden beautifully located by the lagoon. The staff and the owner are wonderful, with attention to detail in every part. Very comfortable beds, and rooms equipped with everything needed. There is a well-stocked minimarket in the neighborhood, and there are restaurants for both lunch and dinner within walking distance, and many more around the north of the island that offer transfers either for free or for an affordable rate. While we would recommend renting a car or motorbike, it’s not crucial to stay here. Thank you Eileen and all the staff for a magical week.
That we didn’t stay longer
Hidden gem! What an adorable little boutique hotel. We only got to stay one night, but wished we had booked more. The lush tropical atmosphere of the hotel itself takes you to a world apart. The lounge seating on the water was quiet, with gorgeous views of the ocean, the sunset and the tropical fish swimming at our feet. The room was comfortable and clean. We especially liked the local products (shampoos, oils, etc.) offered in the bathroom. Breakfast was served to our room in the morning and local restaurants were suggested for our dinner. Great stay!

Une véritable pépite à Moorea. Le Fenua Mata’i’oa est un hôtel exceptionnel, avec une décoration végétale absolument unique, de la réception jusqu’aux chambres. Chaque espace a une âme et un charme fou.
La propriétaire est adorable et se met véritablement en quatre pour ses clients. Nous avions une chambre avec jardin privatif et accès direct à notre petite plage privée : juste waouh.
Mention spéciale également pour la vue depuis le bar, notamment la nuit, où l’on peut observer la faune marine juste en dessous : raies, requins… un spectacle incroyable.
Un lieu comme on en voit très peu, loin des hôtels standardisés, avec une identité, une atmosphère et un charme vraiment inimitables. Une adresse exceptionnelle que nous n’oublierons pas.
Rien, s’il fallait vraiment suggérer une amélioration, ce serait peut-être d’avoir un petit restaurant directement sur place. Cela dit, ce n’est absolument pas gênant puisque l’hôtel travaille avec plusieurs restaurants des environs qui livrent directement en chambre.

Beautiful, quiet & peaceful location with direct access to the lagoon from the deck, conveniently close to a well-stocked little market (with fresh baked goods and deli food) and a 20-minute walk into the nearest village. Kayaks and some snorkelling gear available for a fee. The garden rooms, which are closer to reception, can be louder with more foot traffic going by; if privacy is important to you, it's worth paying a bit more to be farther away from reception. And the garden rooms *are* dark, but in such a hot climate that's not necessarily a bad thing. We weren't troubled by mosquitoes and found the bed very comfortable and the whole suite well-appointed. All in all this very special little hotel provides the luxury and comforts you'd expect at a big resort, with a much more personal touch and at a considerably lower price.
One of the most unusually beautiful locations I have ever stayed in. It’s a breathtaking location with incredible and attentive people running this amazing place. I’m so thankful for everyone there and for the opportunity to have stayed in a place that is just so thought out and beautiful. We were warmly welcomed with 2 other couples arriving very early. We went to lunch while we waited for our room. Breakfast is served for cost, you need a car to get around. One place to eat close by but wasn’t open during our stay. We had ordered in Thai and it was amazing.
What a gem of a place this is! I have been to Moorea several times, but it’s my first time staying here. I was lucky to get a last minute booking arriving in Moorea a day early. This beautiful guesthouse is tucked away in a gorgeous bay in the north east part of the island. I have traveled the world extensively, and I was very impressed how unique and special this place was! Incredibly warm and friendly staff to great and take you to your room, and even given a personal tour of the room which had such a lovely design and special touches. I booked the ocean deck room which was such a treat, having my own private deck on the water! The room was so special, It was hard to leave and enjoy the rest of the beautiful property, which you really should take time to enjoy as well. Trust me, this property is one you should really stay at on your next trip to Moorea! All the rooms are different which makes it inviting to come back again and again! Thank you again for such a lovely stay!

Tout était parfait, en plus d’un emplacement idéal sur cette île magique. La décoration des lieux doit beaucoup à la belle personnalité de sa créatrice. Il règne une atmosphère enchanteresse. Les chambres sont grandes et les lits très confortables. Très intimiste.
