Excellent emplacement au coeur des sassi de Matera avec jolie vue sur la gravina, idéal pour visiter le site. Excellent petit déjeuner très copieux, diversifié et délicieux dans le cadre exceptionnel de la salle creusée dans la roche !
Chambres petites mais normal, c'est lié à la configuration du lieu creusé dans la roche. Des verres mis à disposition dans la chambre seraient un plus.

Room was not a cave but a separate building on a main footpath so lost of people walking past with suitcases or trollies banging on the steps next to the headboard of the bed.
Advice for anybody else staying to contact hotel first to work out best route to walk with cases avoiding all the steps - DON’T RELY ON MAPPING APPS!

No pudimos elegir mejor lugar para nuestra estancia en Matera. Lo que realmente marca la diferencia es la extraordinaria amabilidad y calidez de todo el personal; nos recibieron de forma impecable ofreciéndonos bebidas apenas llegamos y estuvieron atentos a cada detalle con una sonrisa.
La habitación es un auténtico sueño y la gastronomía del hotel es de otro nivel: la cena fue exquisita y el desayuno nos sorprendió con una variedad increíble, todo artesanal y hecho por ellos mismos. Una experiencia de diez que hizo nuestro viaje aún más especial. ¡Totalmente recomendada!
Great location , beautiful room
Shower didn’t drain properly, bathroom floor flooded
Great location for most of the Sassi areas and had a genuine “cave experience” feel in our room and in the dining room. The staff were so friendly and helpful too.
Breakfast was a wider Italian assortment and cooked breakfasts were available at extra cost.
Would have liked tea/coffee making in our room and a small sofa would have easily fitted in the room to make our stay even more comfortable.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with a great location, attentive and welcoming staff and great attention to detail. On arrival we were offered recommendations for restaurants in the area, refreshment drinks, we were even collected from the nearest piazza with an umbrella due to the slight drizzle!
Our room was amazing - it had a huge built in bathtub, which is so large it’s really more of a plunge pool! I’d definitely recommend requesting this room if possible, but given how amazing all the parts of the hotel we saw were, I’d guess all the rooms are likely to be great! They’ve managed to get the balance between that “cave-like” experience you want in Matera, without anything feeling closed in or claustrophobic just right.
The included breakfast was probably the best we had during our whole trip. Everything was homemade and fresh with a fantastic range of options to choose from!

Breakfast was very poor. Ok if you like cake but anything like toast an egg or real orange juice was extra and coffee was the worst I have ever tasted In Italy just out of a mix machine.
