A relaxing stay in a magical place that feels like a completely different world
Pros:

Mr. Fernando greeted his guests and the staff was all very friendly. In particular Anne at reception. Angela from the breakfast room made us feel like family.

Séjour magnifique, un logement encore plus beau qu’en photo !

Nous avons été agréablement surpris en arrivant : le logement est encore plus beau en réalité que sur les photos, un cadre vraiment magnifique. Un vrai coup de cœur.

Le personnel a été très à l’écoute tout au long du séjour, toujours disponible pour répondre à nos questions. Un grand merci également au propriétaire de l’établissement, qui s’est montré très sympathique et accueillant.

Nous recommandons vivement ce logement, une expérience à refaire sans hésiter !

Nice hotel, taste of the Sasis’ of Matera
Pros:

Location amazing, easy check in and out, rooms were tasteful and in keeping with Matera’s history. Really good relaxed stay. Would recommend overall

Cons:

Matera is so hot, so air con not amazing wasn’t ideal but they were super helpful to add fan when asked.

Truly unique experience in a cave room! We loved it!!
Pros:

Parking is available at a cost in a 24-hour multi-storey car park, 10min drive away. The hotel then organises a taxi for you into the old town with is €15 each way, worth it as it would be very difficult with suitcases etc. Very lovely staff, super helpful and kind, they couldn't do enough for you. All the staff seemed super proud of both Matera and their hotel, which is so nice! Breakfast is included both days, includes sweet items, fresh fruit, cheese, bruschetta, granola and yogurt and optional eggs too. The room itself is beautiful, with authentic furnishings. Lovely shower. The option to see the 8 cisterns under the hotel is so unique and nice to do! The location is just at the start of the Sassi which is perfect to explore both the historic Sassi and the newer parts of Matera also. Couldn't recommend it enough!

Cons:

AC could have been a touch better, I think due to the August weather, perhaps a lot of the heat stays in the room.

Unforgettable cave stay and world class hospitality!
Pros:

Staying at Corte San Pietro was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. The cave accommodations are stunningly restored, seamlessly blending history with modern comfort. A highlight of the property is the incredible “Institute di Ricerca Anime” concept under the hotel which gives guests an insight into the subterranean underground water storage system unique to Matera's heritage.

The hospitality here is top-notch. Anna at the Reception and Angela in the Dining Room made us feel like family, and the breakfast they prepare each morning is simply extraordinary: fresh, local, and delicious. We wanted to move in!

The team also gave us incredible local recommendations for dinner and a traditional gelateria (I Vizi degli Angeli - Laboratorio di Gelateria Artigianale) showcasing local ingredients. Do not miss the lavender ice cream. it is genuinely worth tasting! We couldn't have asked for a more unique and welcoming stay. Thank you!
