Thoughtful, cheerful staff and a location in a walkable area make for a pleasant getaway.
Pros:

We'd notified them we were coming for our 44th anniversary. Our room was decorated with heart balloons, "kissing" swan folded towels, flowers, and munchies! So fun to be greeted with it all. Breakfast had lots of options, well-prepared.

Cons:

I'd checked to be sure there was air conditioning, as I am very heat intolerant, but found out that we couldn't set the thermostat below 98! As sleep science has shown, most people (including me) need a temperature of about 65 to sleep well. As much as we loved the place, I couldn't consider it for more than one night because of that one issue.

I would not come back.
Pros:

Just an average place. A bit dissapointed.

Cons:

No lock on the toilet door??!!? It is just a sliding door that doesn’t lock…absolutely ridiculous.

Great location in the Pearl district.
Pros:

Great location, large room, nice gym

Cons:

They told us that housekeeping would come every other day but they only came once in a 6 night stay. And they didn’t really clean anything, just left towels.

One of the only places I'll stay in Portland now
Pros:

Amazing experience. Hotel was very nice, very clean. Staff was exceptional, they were friendly and incredibly service minded. The amenities were great, pool is great for families with kids, and the rooftop patio was a great place to sit with some pizza and eat dinner.

The location is excellent, short walk to Powell's books was a huge gold star in my opinion. And for a hotel this good in this location I'd have expected to pay much more than I actually did pay.

Cons:

Would have liked more sensory friendly options for kids on the breakfast menu. Had omelets instead of scrambled eggs and sausage but no bacon. Was traveling with a kiddo with disabilities who was unable to find any safe foods on the line (luckily we had leftovers in the room, we always have a backup plan for safe foods, so it wasn't a deal breaker!)
