Good value
It was old but was clean and cheap. I thought my room was haunted. There were no chairs in the room so I sat on the edge of the bed watching the TV. I felt a strange presence behind me several times. It scared me for a while before I realised that every time a lorry or a bus went past the hotel it made my bed vibrate.
Apparently there's a speed bump on the road.😂

No door handle on our room. The room wasn’t clean at all signs of previous people stopping, sockets half off the wall, body hair all over the shower. Bed with marks on the sheets to the point i slept in my clothes, carpets awful.
The friendliness of the staff made this place. It was basic and good for an overnighter but probably not a place I would anchor myself at for Newcastle.

The downstairs looked like a tavern it was cool. The staff were lovely.
The cleanliness was non existent, we found snot in the bed and red patches. Not to mention blood and black mold in the bathroom.

The only thing I didn't like was the charge of 80pence extra for a tot of lime cordial in my lager. As I was staying there and already paid I think that it was a rip off as a 1ltr bottle is only £3so they are making a minimum of £13 per bottle.

The woman who checked us in, Does hotel and Bar, Bought her a steak and cheese bake from greggs as she recommended them to us, brilliant service with a smile, She made our stay brilliant.

Staff was friendly and good location for the Metro center. free car parking on site so no need to book and pay in advance.
advertised with restaurant at hotel but no food was available and hadn't been avaiable for a while. only 1 staff member to run the full hotel including the public bar. hotel cleanlness suffeering because not enough staff so downstairs toilet not clean. rooms are kind of clean but attention to detail missing . we had toe nails in the bath.
