The staff was super friendly, loved the view, the beach area was great for snorkeling.
The lobby was under construction while we were there but other than that, nothing.
The staff was kind, attentive, and accommodating. The private beach and water was well kept. Little to no seaweed during end of July. I loved the amenities this hotel offered. It felt like home for a short while.
This review is specifically for the staff and employees. All went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. One employee I was especially impressed with was “Jerso” with valet/bell desk. Jerso was the very definition of great customer service, friendly, fast, accommodating, and great human being!
Excellent Jerso and Javier were fantastic!
No lo aconsejaría para nada, en absoluto. Todo es NO. Cualquier cosa que preguntes o pidas, es NO. La comida malísima y muy pocas opciones y poca variedad, era todos los días las mismas 3 cosas. Todo MUY MAL. No vayan.
I was concerned about the remodeling, but the manager Javier contacted me through facebook and assured me it was all well. He was right. Only the entrance was being remodeled and no noises interrupted our stay. He was very accommodating. He met us ant check-in and our stay couldn’t have been better. All employees were so nice and accommodating.
The resort was nice and quiet without feeling overcrowded, and the rooms were super clean. Plus, the staff was amazing, the water was practically crystal clear, and even though the beach was on the smaller side, it had plenty of room for all the activities.
The main lobby and elevators didn't have proper AC and got pretty warm, and while the food was good, it got a bit repetitive for an all inclusive package, though thankfully none of it was a dealbreaker.
Terrible food poisoning ruined our trip. It’s beautiful and you can snorkel off the beach, but it is not safe to eat there. We paid for all inclusive, but I spent the last half of the trip in bed unable to keep anything down; my husband got it 2 days after I did.
I have travelled to >30 countries and my husband is a doctor, so this wasn’t a case of ‘adjusting to new types of food’.
Hotel did not appear to care or take any action at all when we informed them about the issue, and that is extremely concerning. You don’t fix a problem if you pretend it doesn’t exist. We were not offered any refund of any kind.
I just spent two wonderful days at the Westin resort in Cozumel Mexico. I must admit that I was a bit apprehensive as there have been some negative reviews recently. I will start off by saying that I’m a Titanium member and objectively critical of the hotels in which I stay.
From start to finish, this was a truly magical stay. While it is true that the front entrance is currently under construction as well, as there were workers here and there fixing things up, there was no construction noise to be heard during our entire stay. Our room on the 14th floor had wonderful view and was in great shape.
From check-in to check out, not only the front desk staff, but all the service staff were friendly, accommodating, and truly showed their passion the Marriott experience. The servers at breakfast were wonderful. The housekeeping staff did a wonderful job, and the entire resort is in very good . We especially liked the pool and the beach area. We had no problem finding chairs and the entire resort had a great vibe to it.
This resort is located in a quiet area with a couple of restaurants across the street. If you’re looking to go into town, it isa $10 cab ride or an hour and a half walk. There is a restaurant about 10 minutes away called the buccaneer, which is also a-great option.
While we did not have the all-inclusive package, the elite breakfast was incredible and included juice, pastries, fruit, and a wonderful hot entrée.
I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again as it is truly one of my favorites. I would recommend reserving a room with a balcony as the view is stunning.
This is truly a stay we will remember.
We had a fantastic time staying at the Westin Cozumel. This place is hidden gem on the island. We saw hundreds of fish during our snorkeling in the water, enjoyed playing in the pool, and jumping off the pier. The staff is amazing and very accommodating! We enjoyed breakfast each morning and there was a lot of variety.
Thank you Teresa for providing great housekeeping services. Thank you Nadine and Ruth for the fantastic massage.
We will definitely be back!
The staff throughout the property are amazing and go out of their way to assist and take care of you. One afternoon I asked if the restaurant had the hibiscus tea they serve in the lobby upon arrival, and our server went to another building to find it and bring it to me. The wait staff have also been excellent with my multiple food sensitivities (including corn and gluten). They make a point of asking when you check in at the restaurant and are very helpful with ordering.
Our room was clean and very spacious. It was a corner room with windows facing both directions, so we could watch the sunset and see the moon come out. While the property is undergoing some renovations and could use a little love in places, it wasn’t bothersome at all. The staff treat you like family and go above and beyond to provide anything you need.
The Spa: I’ve had many spa and massage experiences, and Guilian provided the best massage I’ve had to date. I highly recommend her and the Zazil Spa at the Westin Cozumel.
Snorkeling here is wonderful with calm, clear waters and we weren’t bothered by any seaweed unlike Playa & Cancun.
We would definitely return.
Just spent 3 days at the Westin and had a lovely time. Room was spacious, clean and had everything you needed. The setting is perfect with great snorkelling and crystal clear water. The food was lovely, nice choices and the staff were all very friendly, especially Virginia who served us on the beach each day with a lovely beaming smile. would definitely return.
We stayed at The Westin Cozumel July 17th, 2026 for 7 nights celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and booked with the all inclusive option which was very affordable. After making our reservation several months prior, we had email communication with Javier Garcia the guest service manager, to inform him that we were coming to celebrate our event and requested a higher floor wrap around balcony room for our stay. He responded with thanks for choosing Westin and would enter our request on the reservation. When we arrived and presented our printed emails, Javier came to greet us in person, did indeed set us up in a 15th floor wrap around balcony room and made us feel very welcome. The room was very clean, air conditioning worked perfectly, was large, had a beautiful ocean front view, (actually all rooms have the ocean front view) had table, chairs and lounge chairs on the balcony, had a spacious bathroom, large shower and the bed and linens were very comfortable. We had been notified just prior to arrival that renovations were underway but that interruption to guests were trying to be kept to a minimum. The front entrance was boarded up but a side entrance was available and that didn’t hamper anything. We were a little disappointed to find that the oceanfront restaurant Gaviotas was under construction and was closed but the other restaurant Cuzamil was open every morning and evening. Each morning they had a buffet with many options and you could order any type eggs, omelettes, or any other type breakfast items desired. There was inside and patio seating offered both morning and evenings. During the day and into the early evening the snack bar by the pool offered many good choices. In the evening Cuzamil was open for dinner with different theme menus and in addition most evenings a separate buffet in an adjacent room off the lobby was also offered with different theme nights. On the couple of nights there was no separate buffet Cuzamil had, in addition to the regular menu, a buffet salad and soup bar which was very good. Food could be ordered at the pools and the beach and there was 24 hour room service too. We found that all of the staff was so friendly, helpful and worked very hard. Someone was always there serving, cleaning, helping set up chairs and available umbrellas. They could use a few more umbrellas but we found the palm trees provided shade when an umbrella wasn’t available. We could always find a good spot on the beach, enjoyed swimming and snorkeling in the ocean all day, receiving great service especially from Virginia, sometimes a swim at the main pool but mostly ending our day at the adults only wonderful rooftop pool with great service at the bar there provided by Wilder and the other bar tenders enjoying sunset. We also had great service at the lobby bar from Carlos and Os and the other servers there and loved the live music on the Saturday evening. Our room was cleaned and serviced every day by Vickie who worked so hard keeping it so clean and fresh and we were surprised almost every day with anniversary towel swan, flowers, anniversary sweets and rose petals on the bed! Our mini bar was replenished daily and we always had several bottles of water in our room to drink. We loved the beach with the very easy entry calm ocean. (Do recommend bringing water shoes as there are some rocks near the entrance) The snorkeling was really good and there were many different kinds of fish, a couple of rays and we even saw trumpet fish and barracuda. Close by there were sea-doos that could be rented and it looked like some fishing boats were picking up people at the dock. It is just a short 10 minute taxi ride to town, has a couple of restaurants located right across the street and pretty close to the airport. We read many reviews on the property prior to our arrival and disagree with the negative ones as we were very pleased with everything we experienced. As other reviews do mention, this property is a hotel and is somewhat different than other all inclusive resorts as it doesn’t have activities and entertainment etc, but as we wanted this vacation for relaxation and to celebrate as a couple the Westin was perfect for us. As the Westin has been open for about 9 years it is good that they are doing some renovations, are replacing some of the lobby furniture and cushions etc where needed, but overall everything exceeded our expectations! We would definitely recommend staying at The Westin Cozumel and hopefully we can return again soon.
Great location with a laid-back atmosphere that made it easy to relax. The rooms were exceptionally clean, and the spa was absolutely top-notch. Every part of our stay exceeded our expectations, and we felt it was well worth the money. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.
Habitacion
We were very disappointed in the cleanliness of this hotel. On two separate occasions we found roaches in our room. Our maid service was very inconsistent, some days we did not get our hand towels replaced or the coffee replaced.
Nice, big room. The snorkeling off the beach was awesome. The lobby bar is excellent. The service by some was very good.
The food was worse than the all - inclusiveness we have stayed at. Last year the food was MUCH better here. The walls are very thin, making sleep difficult. The umbrellas on the beach are cheap and poor. The decline in food and overall service since we were here last year is WAY down.
The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and just as described. We were disappointed that the restaurant in the separate building was closed, but the breakfast buffet was so good! Sara and Ruth in the spa gave the best massages and were so kind! Beautiful water and snorkeling right out front. We’ll be back!
Our house keeper, Lorenzo, was amazing. He made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were nice and the atmosphere was very chill. We had the best beach area for snorkeling around.
