The Hyde is in a convenient location, walkable to the central area and around the corner to the bus station. The bed was comfy and staff friendly.
The room, however, was very noisy and ill appointed with no drawers, no hooks, and a blow dryer in a desk drawer that couldn't be moved and the no mirror near by to look at.
Had some fantastic food tonight and a prawn pil pil and korma that would be the best ever. Great staff and ambience- well worth a visit
All good!
Was in Galway for a hospital procedure and my taxi pulled up outside the Hyde Hotel and I decided to try this place out, the atmosphere is tranquil and the ambiance is so refreshing! It’s a shame I can’t say the same for the food, I ordered the Hyde Grill, it came out looking ok, but there was things on the plate that I didn’t want and the poach eggs could be used for golf balls they were rock hard with added extras also!
I asked for toast but got plain bread instead!
Service could have been better as I was waiting a long time for staff to come by to see if I needed anything!
The only good thing about the place was Hannah the server and the male bartender!
We stayed at the Hyde Hotel for two nights of our eight-day trip to Ireland. Candidly, it was our least favorite hotel on the trip. Good location that is close to all the pubs and restaurants, but not too close for late nightlife noise. Our king room turned out to be what the front desk staff referred to a "European" king--small with a double bed. Interesting that we had regular kind beds at our previous stops in Dublin and Killarney. Breakfasts were included and were mediocre at best. Both mornings, there were slow waits for service, especially getting coffee. Overall, an average experience . . . would stay elsewhere on a return visit to Galway.
Great location.
Price was a little high.
We stayed two nights here and had an excellent time. We booked the Deluxe Suite and it was so cute! I loved how it was decorated and it was SO nice to have AC during the heat wave. Felt so nice walking into a cold room after a long day of exploring. It's about 10-15 minute walk from all the main bars and shops which is what I wanted as I like to be close to the action while still having some quiet. All the staff was so helpful and kind. No complaints, we would stay here again in the future!
I want to say our waitress Daisy was so helpful and so friendly! Thank you Daisy!
A beautiful place for good food and ambiance.
We tried the brunch menu and the breakfast, I would recommend the brunch the most.
A lovely sized room and ready on arrival
Nothing
Great location.
Rooms were small, air conditioning was underwhelming but we stayed during a record heat wave.

Lovely room, very convenient location, good breakfast. Very friendly staff who went out of their way to give local recommendations
I feel that o was overcharged for my room. I had booked a reservation for the suite with one price they gave but then I was charged a price for each room. It was more expensive than I thought
The location was terrific
Nothing to note
I had a wonderful stay at the Hyde Hotel and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Galway. The hotel has a fun, stylish atmosphere, a fantastic central location within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the train station, and, most importantly, an exceptional team who made my stay memorable.
The customer service truly stood out.
Lavinia, the Reception Team Lead, was warm, kind and incredibly helpful both before my arrival via email and throughout my stay.
Patrick welcomed me with a smile, helped with my luggage (while politely refusing a tip), shared excellent recommendations for places to visit, and was friendly, funny and genuinely kind. Before I left, he also helped me secure my luggage with travel straps. I’d never used them before, and he patiently showed me how they worked, making my journey home much easier.
Sandra at reception went above and beyond when I wasn’t feeling well. She kindly moved my prepaid breakfast to the following day, arranged for someone to bring Coke Zero and ice to my room, and even secured me a same-day emergency dental appointment at a wonderful local practice. Jan, who delivered the drinks, was incredibly kind and compassionate.
Sofia and Elizabeth at reception were equally warm, welcoming and eager to help with recommendations and local information.
Breakfast was very good, and the kitchen happily accommodated my gluten-free diet without any difficulty. I especially enjoyed the smoked salmon with poached eggs. Hannah and Doroti were wonderful, and even the breakfast playlist added to the welcoming atmosphere.
I also loved the quirky décor, the unexpected private balcony off my room, and the environmentally conscious SuitePad, which allows guests to manage housekeeping requests and order room service.
A few small suggestions: it would be helpful to have both a recycling bin and a general waste bin in the room, and some of the hotel’s information could be more consistent. During my stay, the breakfast times differed between the website and the SuitePad, the online menus weren’t up to date, and the breakfast menu on the SuitePad displayed an error message. I shared this feedback with reception, and they received it graciously and assured me it would be passed along.
These were all relatively minor issues and did not detract from what was otherwise an excellent stay. The genuine kindness and professionalism shown by the Hyde Hotel team made a lasting impression, and I look forward to staying here again on a future visit to Galway.
