Australian!-thought we had an infinity pool with staff &
Pros:

Loved the actual hotel- it is beautiful with an amazing history. We plan on traveling with our family next year and may re-visit
We are Australian and loved the pool- but were confused about how to get towels and there was no service in the pool area (drinks or food)

The pool was good in the heat

Cons:

DO NOT ORGANISE A PICKUP/ DROPOFF WITH THIS HOTEL- GRAB IS SO MUCH CHEAPER

The pre organised pick up fee is ridiculous! Do not do this- just do a 'Grab' at the airport- make sure you have the App. Unless they are prepared to negotiate a more reasonable price after this review. It's absolutely ridiculous!

My actual amounts -
We organised a driver with the hotel prior to arrival, and the airport to hotel driver price was Philippine Dollar PHP 2000, I'm Australian so Au $47.

When leaving we ordered a 'Grab' (after recognising the ridiculous price) and the total transaction (including the international transaction fee) was PHP 346, Au $8.00. So, a massive difference of-Philippine dollar approx. $1600 ( Au $37).

So the total difference is- 2000-346 =PHP- 1654 (AU $38.46)

Can't say it any other way- DO NOT ORGANISE AIRPORT TRANSPRORT WITH THIS HOTEL

They also need to consider the pool staff- we didn't know how to get our towel and there were no staff to serve us at the pool (for food and drinks) and they also had signs up saying that we cannot have our own food and drinks but they had no staff to serve us, this was very confusing.

So ...we can't bring our own drinks and there is no staff- LITERALLY NOT A PERSON TO HELP if you are wanting to swim and enjoy this pool, and you cannot order a drink- because there are no staff in the pool area.

So...sounds awesome- accommodation close to city with pool-not what you get!!

Beautiful historic hotel property with PWD accessibility issues
Pros:

I booked a three night stay at the Rizal Park Hotel; after I had contacted the hotel about handicap accessibility, identifying myself as a 70 year old PWD (person with disability) that uses a cane. I specifically asked if I would encounter stairs and if yes; do the stairs have a handrail and is there a handicap ramp that bypasses the stairs.
I initially contacted Rizal Park Hotel on 29 March and got an email reply on 31 March; “The hotel is generally accessible. We have ramps available for entry points.” This was for my arrival in Manila; I selected a different historical Manila hotel for my four night arrival stay.
For my trip departure I contacted Rizal Park Hotel on 27 May and got an email reply on 28 May; “Hotel is a four-storey building equipped with working elevators that provide access to the guest room floors. We also have stairs with handrails available within the property. For accessibility, ramps are available in selected areas of the hotel.”
On 28 May I responded via email, “Thank you very much for your detailed accessibility information; your guidance gave me the confidence to make a three night booking.”

On 11 June at 3:30 pm I arrived at Rizal Park Hotel lobby entrance; there were stairs without a handrail and No handicap ramp. The guard said to drive to the parking lot back side of the building, where there are stairs with a handrail and a ramp with a handrail. This phase 2 entrance is open 24 hours per day; there are seats to sit inside and 2 elevators to the amenities (swimming pool, gym and guest rooms). To reach the check in lobby you proceed through a tiled corridor, then up an inclined corridor that is without handrails and is both tiled & carpeted, then a carpeted corridor that reaches the check in lobby. Clearly the phase 2 entrance is Not the hotel check in arrival entrance ... when the front entrance guard directed me to the parking lot back side of the building entrance; he did not use his radio to advise the hotel front desk or security that I was arriving at the phase 2 entrance. I was fortunate that some hotel employees that had been moving laundry bins, offered to assist me with my suitcases.
I thought I had prepared for my first visit by reaching out to the hotel to confirm accessibility; clearly the accessibility information was misleading. The safety of hotel Persons with Disability should be taken seriously with complete fact based details. Batas Pambansa Bilang 344 (BP 344) Accessibility Law of the Philippines provides clear guidance.

Rizal Park Hotel is a beautiful historic building that offers a unique stay; during my stay there was one working elevator (2 additional ones were blocked off) in the original building providing access to the guest rooms. The hallway carpets had wear and sections patched; the 3rd floor had wet floor signs in the hallway by water that had dripped. My Jr Suite room #338 was in excellent condition; with a very comfortable bed, walk-in shower, refrigerator and view of Manila Bay.
I enjoyed the breakfast buffet served in Rizal Cafe both mornings at 6:30 am; there was a good variety of food choices, plus omelets made to order. Both mornings Charlie, dining room staff, was kind enough to assist me in plating my food selections … with a cane in one hand and the plate in the other hand his help was greatly appreciated! What I thought was odd was the breakfast buffet had zero juices; water and coffee were offered, plus an iced tea beverage.

In my opinion; Rizal Park Hotel’s greatest asset is clearly their team of employees, friendly & smiling, with some Superstars that were outgoing employees that anticipated your request. Both Jeremiah from the front desk and Charlie from Rizal Cafe were Customer Service Excellence in Action!

After breakfast on my 2nd day I decided to cancel my plans for the day and simply rest my right knee. At 5:45 pm I talked via phone to Jeremiah at the front desk; I asked him to cancel my 6 pm hotel Rizal Cafe reservation as I wanted to stay off my right knee, I would just order room service. I called room service and there was no answer. I called back to the front desk and Jeremiah said he would have room service call me; after waiting over 35 minutes for room service to call, I gave up and went downstairs to the front desk. I talked to Jeremiah telling him room service never called me back. I told Jeremiah that I tried to make the three night stay work despite the accessibility issues and now the room service failure, but I was checking out 1 night early.

If you are a Senior Citizen or PWD traveling by yourself; there are better safer accessible hotels to select from.
Now that the Rizal Park Hotel Management is aware their accessibility information is not completely accurate and specific; hopefully Hotel leadership will address this critical guest safety issue. If the hotel General Manager developed a detailed “Rizal Park Hotel Accessibility Fact Sheet” to send out when they received an inquiry, it would greatly assist potential PWD guests understand potential accessibility barriers.

Awful. Definitely NOT designed for foreigners to stay at. Racist rude white hating unwelcoming.
Pros:

Evening meal on public holiday was exceptional, the staff and catering was of a very high standard. Attention to detail, attentiveness and service. The food provided in presentation and taste extremely well done.

Cons:

Dilapidated building though states renovation in progress. Mouldy collapsed ceilings rotting walls and carpet, paint and wallpaper peeling, and that was the ‘ restored ‘ sections.
Pool FULL of baby poo, children weeing and adults blowing their noses into the water in front of disinterested staff. Abused for taking sunset photos yet staff friends allowed to do modelling photo shoots at pool. Extremely rude staff all over except restaurant. MOUNTAINS of garbage and rusting scaffolding as view instead of ocean view as paid for.
A very sad crumbling mess, cockroaches crawling across foyer floor as staff stood around playing games.
