I had made the booking for this hotel for an overnight stay during whilst walking the Thames Path with a friend. I booked a twin room via Booking.com. However on arrival I was informed that the hotel had not received that particular requirement from Booking.com and was only able to offer a double room, which in circumstances I had to accept, therefore having to share a double bed with my friend which was not ideal. The hotel staff was apologetic and did offer discount on our booking.
Lovely room with deep bath. Food was lovely. Staff very friendly.
So much character in a room that must have been recently renovated. Warm, cosy but spacious. Great breakfast.

The aircon in the room number 14 was too loud and we could not use it
Hotel was great and has been refurbished since our last visit.
sadly we were awoken not long after 6am by a very noisey kitchen extraction system, providing a good nights sleep is important for a hotel, this unfortunately was not the case here. Rather than refund our accomodation which was the problematic area, they just offered a free breakfast. On speaking with staff its apparent its a known problem.
Newly refurbished rooms in a chrecterful hotel in a cracking location. Great breakfast, friendly staff and a nice bar downstairs. Free wifi, powerful shower, air-con and a very comfortable bed - all boxes ticked!

Old coaching Inn in town centre with some parking. Comfortable, though rather small room /bathroom. Breakfast and evening meal both very good.
No instructions about Wifi password or using air con/heater in room.

Location was excellent . Food , staff, cleanliness all v good . Our room (18) was rather compact but still nice .
I asked for a ground floor / first floor room but ended up on the second floor (26 stairs!) it was later explained ( when I asked) that only a second floor room had air con . Staff helped with luggage on arrival.
Good location. Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely stylish room, with fabulous comfy bed & crisp white linen.
We requested rooms with air con, as it was a heatwave with temp 38 + The rooms did have air con which was really effective & most welcome. But unfortunately the air con unit was very noisy, so we were not able to sleep because of the noise of it.
Also, while the rooms had recently been renovated to an exceptionally high standard, and were really lovely, the rest of the hotel looked a bit tired, so the overall experience didn’t feel quite consistent.
This was a gem of a place , I can honestly say that they do not come much better than this .
The room was decorative and full of all the things you would need .
The shower was brilliant , expensive soaps provided
The food in the restaurant was really good breakfast menu was right up to date with healthy options .
