Fine stay
Pros:

Insufficiënt means to hangout wet towels. Unclear airco working instructions. To much light from fire-alarm device.

Great stopover.
Pros:

Breakfast was excellent, the staff helpful and friendly, location excellent, parking was good, dinner was good.

Cons:

Our air conditioning/ heating didn't work so we had a fan heater.
Our bathroom was very tight on space.
Mum's bathroom was huge but cold.

Room lovely but rest of hotel a little disappointing
Pros:

Room was lovely, well equipped, appreciated bath and robes, linen and pillows comfortable, location good for Thames Path…staff were lovely in restaurant which was busy, food good.

Cons:

Luggage not taken to room two flights up, uninviting reception, hallways tired and needed painting….traffic noise from lorries.

Will come back for longer stay

Simply outstanding!
Pros:

Our stay at the Crown and Thistle was outstanding! All the staff were friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was luxurious and the food in their restaurant was delicious. Also, as we were part of a group of transgender women with our partners, we were pleased to see that the Crown and Thistle is part of the Ask Clive scheme which helps to make LGBTQIA+ people safer. All their staff treated our group members with the utmost respect and none of us were misgendered by them - which sadly, happens far too often these days. They made us all feel welcome, valued and valuable. We are already planning to return next year! Thank you so much to all the staff at the Crown and Thistle.

A really enjoyable couple of days in an interesting location
Pros:

The staff were exceptionally helpful, in particular Sarah who took the dinner and breakfast orders for a group of 14 and ensured that all the orders went to the correct room numbers. Not any easy task handling 14 oldies :-))

Location and period details. Lovely building.

Cons:

Four poster bed was unstable and creaky. The shower temperature was difficult to control.. either cold or very hot. 3 teabags for 2 people.

Not the best
Pros:

Room 2 was very dark and dinghy with very poor lighting nowhere to sit and being on the front very noisy. We had breakfast quite late but everything except the undercooked eggs were obviously cooked we before orders were placed service however was good nice pleasant staff. We stayed with relatives for a family funeral having the funeral tea there in the barn in my opinion it was an embarrassing display of sandwiches on dry cheap bread with the tiniest amount of filling nd selection luke warm tea and coffee a very poor show. Overall not a good show however staff were good and attentive so the problems are with the way the place is run wouldn't stay again
