Très bien.
Pros:

A great bolt-hole in the heart of Merida
Pros:

Lovely place to stay — good location and the pool and breakfast were excellent. Tom and staff were really friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Room could just use a few adjustments — we would have liked a wardrobe and some more drawers, and the door to our hotel room was glass so it let the early-morning light in.

A beautifully designed, well‑located place with friendly staff and convenient nearby parking
Pros:

Super nice facilities: the interior design, the color palette, and the overall atmosphere deserve special praise for their excellent taste. The rooms were also very nice—spacious, comfortable, and perfectly clean. A special mention as well to the extremely friendly staff, including one of the owners we had the chance to speak with. The location is great too, with everything in Mérida within walking distance. And it’s worth mentioning that a visit to Mérida itself is absolutely worth it, it’s a truly beautiful town.
For anyone traveling by car: free parking is available in a secure and supervised private parking area on the first cross street, just a 2‑minute walk away. And if you’re carrying a lot of luggage, you can briefly park directly opposite the entrance to unload before moving the car to the parking area.
I can only highly recommend this place.

Cons:

No matter how hard I try, there’s honestly nothing I didn’t like or could complain about. Of course, you have to keep in mind that this not a "ten" star super luxury resort (and I’m actually glad it isn’t, because I don’t enjoy that kind of places), hence, there’s absolutely nothing to pick on or dislike.

Staying at el Luz made our first visit to Merida a very special one.
Pros:

Beautifully decorated, wonderful breakfast included, helpful staff. Location was perfect.

Cons:

Shower tiles were a bit slippery. Easily remedied by a mat or addition of a bar.

Definitely the place to stay in Merida for personal service, excellent facilities, location and great value for money.
Pros:

The old world feel of being in a renovated Mexican property, actually a nunnery from the adjacent Church which the owners have refurbished and enhanced. Some of the nooks and crannies have evidence of times gone by, for example hammock hooks in the walls.
The staff were excellent and spoke good English, led by one of the owners Donald. On finding we had two birthdays during our stay, he gifted free drink tokens to be used at the superb pool side bar.
Another example of their great service, the air conditioning packed up on the last evening and immediately we were offered another room across the hall to sleep in whilst leaving our luggage in the original bedroom. The AC unit was being fixed at breakfast the next morning.
Aside from service, the breakfasts were cooked to order, good and filling, the bedrooms had all the amenities you might need (although hot water for tea is in the adjacent hallway)
And the icing on the cake: a double hammock in our own bedroom. Give it a go, very relaxing and easy to take a siesta when need a rest from the hot weather.

Cons:

Nothing whatsoever.
Some people have mentioned the parking, we thought that was excellent too/ Only 100 yards around the corner in a secure supervised car park.

Pros:

I spent two days in this wonderful place. Quiet, secluded and a real retreat where I could escape the heat. I was given a room where I didn't need to use a/c, the ceiling fans were more than enough. Breakfasts were very good and the staff helpful and polite. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Mérida.

The best choice in Mérida
Pros:

Every day fruit, coffe, jogurt and excellent, fresh breakfast with several options to choose from. If you want to be close to everything in Mérida on foot, have the option of parking and great relaxation by the pool, then don't think any further and take it!!

Cons:

It is understandable that if there is no one at the pool, there will be no bar staff. But this can be arranged with the reception.

Great location when visiting Merida!
Pros:

You can’t beat the location of Luz en Yucatán! It is right in the middle of the center of the city, which meant that we did not have to rent a car or take many taxis to get around to see the sights. The breakfast they have every morning, which is included, it is really nice, and way better than a continental breakfast. The staff, including the couple that owns the place (and is there pretty much every day) were all very nice and helpful. Our room is clean very well every day.

Cons:

The beds were a little on the hard side, but not bad . The hotel is small because it’s in an old, possibly colonial era building, which gives it a wonderful charm, but it is not super modern. It wasn’t a bad thing for us, since the property is kept very clean and well maintained
