Uncomfortable stay
Pros:

Location, breakfast, easy parking

Cons:

Horrible beds. We stayed in room 223. Both the joined up beds had sunken mattresses in the middle. Gave me back pain. Had to keep an extra pillow for my back. The rooms do not have any air-conditioning. We asked for a fan, which wasn't provided either. We couldn't sleep well at all.

Cancelled with very little notice
Pros:

Proceed with caution! I was booked to stay in the family room but they cancelled 24 hours before check-in, due to building work that had overrun apparently. So I've got a day to find another family room at one of the busiest times in the area with the Download Festival. I'm sure the hotel is great but they don't have a problem cancelling with so little notice so be aware when you're booking!

Pros:

Great to have ground floor outdoor access with our dog

Cons:

Very small thing, my partner for health needs has a high nutrition diet.zit would have been good to have full fat yoghurt as well as the low fat variety

The staff were very pleasant and very helpful and the breakfast was plentiful and the grounds are charming with outdoor
Pros:

Convenient for our purpose of visit.

Cons:

The noise from 2 weddings during our stay. We had been given a room which was supposed to be quiet and away from the noise but booming music went on until midnight with doors wide open letting the noise into the whole hotel. After midnight we managed to sleep.

Adequate safe parking for cherished vehicles

Cons:

Sunday morning, understaffed breakfast (wedding party overstretched them to the detriment of other guests)

Pros:

The staff were friendly, the location was ideal for what we needed.

Cons:

The room had no air conditioning and was stifling. I know, something I should have considered prior to booking.
There was a wedding on so the music was playing loudly and late which meant having to keep the windows closed to minimise the noise. It would have been nice to have been informed that there was a wedding there prior to booking or at least afterwards so we could have bookeda different room or hotel. Reception did provide us with 2 fans for the room on request which I was grateful for.
The breakfast was mediocre. Poor choice of fruit and deli meat/cheese. Had ran out of English breakfast tea and the croissants were like rocks. The windowsill in the dining area was a collection of dead flies and gnats all along. It would have been nice if it had been cleaned prior to breakfast service.

It is a lovely setting but a little attention to detail wouldn't go amis. The staff were doing what they could.

Okay, expensive for the quality. Would not add breakfast as an extra if I ever stayed again
Pros:

Nice looking hotel, staff in the evening were friendly

Cons:

Breakfast was poor quality, food wasn’t replenished, cups were unclean. Tables unclean. Only one member of staff on duty after a wedding or party the previous night.
