The staff were polite at reception and I feel like they were trying but its not organised and needs stronger management strategies
Unfortunately this hotel does not live up to the photos or the older reviews.
We arrived to stay in the family room on a last minute break, the photos sold us on the hotel. Once we arrived we knew the photos were out if date. There were dozens of cigarette stubbs outside the door, rubbish, a broken chaise with cans on it, the doors were dirty and dirty mats on the floor leading upto reception.
We arrived early went in and asked if we could leave the car parked, to which we were told by a gentleman it was fine and they were cleaning the rooms. We went out all day and then came back at 3, we went to the room, which was spacious, we literally put our bags in and left for the evening. It wasn't until we came back that night we realised the room wasn't as clean as it should be, there was bits under the bed, a dirty sheet, a sheet in between the bed, the shower curtain was rotten on the bottom.
We did what we could to tidy as we were tired. Then music was blasting from another room. Despite texting the reception to ask them to get it turned down it carried on.
The shower was freezing, we reported it and was told it would be fixed, it wasn't, so we left the 2nd day unshowered just to get home.
The 2nd night music was blasting from a room again and the corridor smelt of weed.
The breakfast is not as pictured, the basic, not much if it, luke warm beans and tomatoes. We could here other guest complaining to each other about it.
No hangers in the wardrobe or small fridge, which is unusual in a family room.
The bar isn't run by the hotel either, its cash only, we didn't have cash so he said we could pay later. We came back with cash and he wasnt there, and 10 o'clock a night he came knocking on my door and wanted me to come down in my pj's to pay as he said he might not be open the next day! Only cans of larger no draft and ciroca vodka.
The whole set up is strange, I feel like new people have taken over as the photos on booking.
Shortly arrived the train stations, everything close,to the hotel,the rooms size big,comfy, light.The breakfast fabulous XX we very enjoyed staying. Xx
I think this hotel new owner.... because I seen before possible dinner,or music night, but this is new option.you can do it! This is Great hotel.

Hall carpets ripped room carpets stained you could feel the springs in the bed no windows would open I had to fix the blinds four coat hangers I had to repair the shower head to have a shower I don’t think the windows had ever been washed the bare had no stock no draft beer pipe can of beer very very little spirits breakfast food was poor quality and over cooked all in all it was a pleasure to leave
Self-Service breakfast was amazing, nice breakfast room, best breakfast we've had 👍👍. staff was very helpful and great service 👍👍. Wi-Fi. speed was great, the room was good with a balcony you can sit outside anytime 👍👍.(We had room 10) Lift to every floor no need to climb stairs,will be staying again. We did 4 nights.
