Adam Downtown is a small neighborhood hotel near the lively Rembrandt Square. Its location is convenient with access to all of the Amsterdam sites and close to the tram. The interior decor is lovely and the room amenities were nice (refrigerator, coffee maker, blow dryer, etc). The beds and linens were very comfortable. Housekeeping supplied fresh towels each day. We really liked our room, however we would NOT stay at this hotel again.
Unfortunately, this hotel did not meet our expectations. The biggest issue was the noise. There is a bar/nightclub located directly below the hotel, and the loud bass music and vibrations were relentless. The thumping bass beat continued until approximately 4:00am on the first two nights of our stay and until 5:00am on the final two nights (weekend nights). The noise wasn't just audible—it could be felt through the room, making it nearly impossible to sleep. We tried everything to minimize the disturbance, including playing white noise on our phones and using earplugs provided by the hotel after we complained. Nothing helped. We also requested to be moved to a higher floor, hoping the noise and vibrations would be less noticeable, but were told the hotel was fully booked and there were no other rooms available. For context, we live in downtown Chicago and are accustomed to city noise at all hours. This was on an entirely different level. We were unable to get a decent night's sleep during any of the four nights of our stay because of the constant bass and vibrations.
There were other inconveniences as well. The hotel does not have a traditional front desk or lobby—check-in is handled through a virtual assistant. Access to the hotel requires climbing a very narrow, steep staircase, and there is no elevator. Getting suitcases up and down the stairs was difficult and frustrating. Given the excessive noise, lack of sleep, difficult access, and absence of basic amenities such as an elevator and staffed lobby, we do not feel the price reflects the value offered. We would not stay here again and cannot recommend it to travelers looking for a comfortable and restful stay.

Ik verbleef samen met mijn partner één nacht in Adam Downtown en we hadden een fijne ervaring. De locatie is ideaal, midden in het centrum en op loopafstand van veel restaurants en bezienswaardigheden. Het inchecken verliep erg voorspoedig via een hologram in plaats van personeel, wat eigenlijk verrassend soepel en modern werkte. De kamer was schoon, netjes en verrassend rustig voor zo’n centrale plek. Voor een kort verblijf in Amsterdam zouden wij dit hotel zeker aanraden.

Avatar-receptionisterne var søde og prøvede forgæves på afstand at hjælpe med den manglende varme på værelserne. Direktionen tog vores efterfølgende klage over forkert indstillet varmesystem alvorligt, kompenserede os for generne og udtrykte vilje til at rette op på fejlen til kommende gæster.
Hotellet er prissat lidt for højt. Ingen lounge, intet "live" personale
Great location with lovely interior decor and thoughtful touches such as complimentary water and chocolate, plus useful room amenities including a steamer, hairdryer, fridge, cotton buds and pads. The staff were very friendly and helpful, with Flip doing a great job keeping us updated on when the room was ready, and the bag locker and lobby toilet were especially convenient for early arrivals and late flights.
We stayed in Room 102 above a bar where loud bass music and vibrations continued until around 4am, making it difficult to sleep. The room door rattled every time the hotel’s front door shut, which regularly woke us, and the toilet also had an unpleasant smell.
It was a great central location and cute decor
The air conditioner did not work, and you couldn't open any of the windows. Sleeping was extremely uncomfortable. We asked someone to fix it after the first night, but the second night it was the same. There is no staffed reception to do anything after hours.

Het ontvangst via de live verbinding ging gemakkelijk.
De geur in de badkamer was redelijk muf & het water liep niet weg tijdens het douchen, waardoor je niet even lekker kon douchen.
Daarnaast is de gang erg gehorig en hoor je iedere gast binnenkomen. Ik had geen last van het geluid van buiten.

Narrow Staircase, very difficult for getting suitcases up to our 3td floor room with no elevator.
