Apart from a few very minor drawbacks, a great place to stay. Recommended
Pros:

Spacious room at top of building - good views. Very comfy beds. Safe located in the room was good. Cafe on site for breakfast, not cheap though! .
Secure off street parking was welcome although parking spaces a little squeezy. Shower good, but drainage into the centre drain in the bathroom wasn't the best. Good value for money given location - easy walking distance to Southport shops.

Cons:

Check-in after hours difficult and time-consuming as relies on outside agent who took ages to answer phone - they had no record of our parking booking which meant we couldn't have the off-street parking we had booked for the first night. Exhaust fan comes on with light switch in bathroom which meant it was cold after shower.

Rooms ok, breakfast not so much
Pros:

Rooms were relatively clean.
Didn’t have any problems with sound from the road or anything.

Cons:

Wouldn’t recommend taking the breakfast with the room. Breakfast is very basic and low quality. Cheap store-bought toast, bread, and chemically tasting hash browns. I wasn’t a fan.
In my opinion, definitely not a 4-star hotel.

Hotel was reasonable, considering it was a short stay but would not book there again for longer stay
Pros:

Was within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Also connected to the country club with restaurant and gaming plus other facilities.

Cons:

The hotel was off the main streets and was bit worn and need bit of upgrade and renovations. There were other hotels and apartments within the meeting venue that had better facilities at less cost. I booked to the hotel because we had a conference room booked there for a meeting so I booked there for convenience.

Horrible experience
Cons:

So hard to do an after hours check in the intercom kept cutting out. Room smelt damp. Shower made the entire bathroom wet. Bathroom door randomly locked us out this morning and reception didn't send anyone up dispite going down twice to them had to find housekeeping ourselves. Terrible value for money, do not stay here.

Great location.
Pros:

Location was perfect for the Gold Coast Marathon which was why we came to the Gold Coast

Cons:

Rooms were small.
Shower set up (because there was no door, there was a lot of water leakage when showering).

It was sufficient for the weekend.
Pros:

Considering that it was only a hotel room it was quite sufficient for the weekend. I liked that breakfast was included although that was not useful to me on Saturday when I was running in a half marathon. I liked that there was an onsite laundry and I was able to wash some clothes.

Cons:

I wasn't made aware of off-street parking, in hotel carpark, and had to leave car on the street for the weekend.
I didn't like that the cleaning staff removed a Coles reusable shopping bag from the room on Saturday morning which had some laundry pods, for washing clothes, and some other paperwork in it. Despite several enquiries it was not located.
It was fortunate that I was travelling solo as there wouldn't have been enough room for another person.

We were happy with our stay at the Woodroffe Hotel and would stay there again.
Pros:

The location within walking distance to Australia Fair was ideal for us. The cafe had a lovely calm atmosphere and we enjoyed our breakfasts there. The room was basic but clean and comfortable.
