One of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. Staff is remarkable -- friendly, helpful, accommodating. The owner was there each day and never failed to speak to us. Small boutique hotel, but within walking distance to shops, excellent locally owned restaurants, and the sea itself. Rooms were large, airy and the beds super comfortable. Can't say enough good things about this place. Now wish we could have spent another day or two there. You won't regret staying at 18 Grapes.
My husband and I stayed at 18 Grapes for 3 nights as part of our 20th anniversary celebration. It was a wonderful stay.
It's location is steps from the small beachtown at Agios Prokopios, one of the "best beaches" in Naxos. This beach is long, the water calm calm and full of beach clubs for sunbed/umbrella rentals though there is plenty of space if you walk along the beach if you just want to lay your towel down. There are several great restaurants in the area. 15 minutes walk from this beach is Agios Anna, another one of the "best beaches" in Naxos. Further down the same coast is Plaka Beach, which is 4 km of beautiful white sane and blue water - there is a very cheap/easy/convenient bus that runs from Naxos Town to Agios Prokopios (where the hotel is) and all the way down to the north end of Plaka Beach. In a nutshell, the location is great if you want easy access to several beautiful beaches and a short bus ride or taxi into town.
We stayed in Room 14 - it was on the ground floor and had a private plunge pool, which was fun, though we generally preferred the hotel pool because it was so beautiful. I would have preferred a room with a view but they were sold out for our dates. The view though, even if we had one, would have included some power lines. I know this from the rooftop bar, which was also a thing of beauty with its own plunge pool. We had an electrical problem in our room, which I assume was a one-off, but the hotel managers made efforts to fix that immediately and gave us a bottle of 18 Grapes wine - yes, did you know they make their own wine??! The room inside was very small but very spa-like.
Oh another bonus was that they provide you with a cute beach bag and beach towels to bring to the beach.
Breakfast is made to order with an extensive menu - poolside - a lovely way to start your day.
The gym is actually pretty decent for a boutique hotel in Europe! We ran one day and had did a strength workout another day. The lady who works at the spa an absolute delight.
I don't know why I don't give it 5* - it may be that we did not have a room with a view (not the hotel's fault they were sold out) or that the room was pretty small, or that because it was a ground floor room, at night we found lots of little bugs crawling around, which would be cleaned up the next day with room service... That happened but at the same time, the grounds were so clean - people were always mopping and cleaning - the pool was so clean.
All in all, a fantastic stay and experience.
It was in amazing condition and the was close to the beach. The staff was amazing and did anything they could to ensure your stay was perfect
Really good breakfast, good cocktails at the roof bar, always sunbed availability, walkable to the beach and restaurants, friendly staff, easy parking, bed extremely comfortable and room really nice - had some great sleeps
I can't say enough about this place. From the gorgeous room with an amazing view, attention to detail & beyond friendly staff. I felt right at home with them always making sure I was well taken care of. The food was 5 star from the breakfast to the pool side food. They greeted us with a welcome drink (delicious), a tour of the facility & chill vibes. The owner was so sweet & welcoming a great example of everyone here. Now the cost was beyond reasonable for what you get. I am already planning my return visit...if I could give it more stars I would've. Thank you 18 grapes....till next time
We had to change our travel plans in Greece at the last minute, and that meant we got to spend a night in Naxos. So thankful they had a room as it is still the shoulder season. We booked the room with a jacuzzi spa and were delighted by the room, the staff, and the food we had during our short time here. What a lovely hotel staffed by lovely people.
- beautiful room
- excellent service
- great holiday resort
- delicious food (breakfast and dinner!)
- if you are sensitive please bring a sleeping mask as there is a motion sensor in the room
I absolutely loved this hotel. The staff were both very friendly and highly efficient. The room was lovely and well-equipped. The pool is fantastic. Breakfast was wonderful.
Personnel aux petits soins, très aimable, serviable, accueillant. Chambre exceptionnelle, calme, excellente literie. Superbe petit déjeuner. Les attentions.
This is an excellent boutique hotel. The rooms are nice, the pool is nice, the restaurant is very good, the breakfasts are great. The waitstaff are particularly friendly. We hope to return next year.
Clean, comfortable, friendly with a great staff & delicious foods.
Departing..
Nice place to stat. Nice team always there to help with a big smile. Good food.
Nothing
We stayed here during the shoulder season. It rained 3 days just prior to our arrival. The weather for us was amazing: sunny, warm days, and cool evenings/nights. This small, simplistically sophisticated hotel was wonderful. We were warmly greeted by the owners who definitely take pride in their business. The rooms were very spacious and decorated in neutral, relaxing decor. Our patio had breathtaking sea views. There were plenty of poolside loungers and daybeds; not a single guest “saving” chairs all day with their stuff which was quite refreshing. The only negative for me was the on site gym. It was very small and a bit crowded with equipment. I think I was the only one who ever used it during our stay. iVery short (3-5 min) walk to the beach with plenty of restaurants, cafes, taverns, a grocery store, gym, and laundry mat. The breakfast at the hotel was really good with fresh fruit and huge portions. Christina was cheery and warm, and really took good care of us during our stay. We would definitely stay here again
The staff and service was excellent. Room and property was very good. Great location with easy access to restaurants, etc.
Eighteen Grapes is incredible. The food is delicious especially for a hotel. The staff is very friendly and accommodating but not in a fake way. The rooms are large and inviting; housekeeping very responsive. It’s a short walk to town. I really can’t say enough about this hotel.
