Filthy , Noisy and No Privacy
Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

Awful. It was filthy. Dirty bathroom, floor messy, bin had rubbish in. Did not sleep due to noise all night. No privacy when using the bathroom, your partner sees everything through the glass, plus door doesn’t close. Awful.😢

Perfect for Parkrun
Pros:

Stayed here for two nights before a cruise from Southampton for our anniversary. It was a great location for parkrun on the Saturday morning as you literally walk out of the carpark onto the parkrun route. It’s also great for access into the city centre with bus and train stops nearby or a walking trail along the solent, if you want a longer walk. There is a pub and cafe on site and there are plenty of restaurants at Port Solent a short drive away. Check in was smooth and we used the self check in with no issues. Our room was on the 4th floor with a view across nearby fields. Gym access was included and we used equipment, attended a virtual spin class and had a swim. All the staff we spoke to were super friendly and helpful and we even got a welcome card in our room wishing us a happy anniversary!

Check room before using
Pros:

Very unclean, mould on ceiling, dusty visible rust, and other unclean marks around room once I was four nights in found questionable stains on head rest, so instantly pack up and left I have photos, would suggest Scrutinise room before getting comfortable!! Or there budget hotels in area that are cleaner

Not Motorcycle friendly 😔
Pros:

The hotel was very modern clean and very comfortable

Cons:

Booked two rooms for four people at the time of booking it stated private parking is possible on site at a cost of £5, but on arrival was told it was £10 per motorcycle we offered to park two motorcycles in one parking space and pay £10 but the receptionist was having none of it and made us pay £20 for the two motorcycles. This Hotel in my mind is not motorcycle friendly and will not be stopping at any Village Hotels again, unless they make changes to the parking charges.

Brilliant stay
Pros:

Village Hotel Portsmouth delivers a slick, modern stay with impressive "everything under one roof" convenience. Conveniently located near the M27, it serves as an excellent base for business or exploring the historic dockyard.
The standout feature is the state-of-the-art leisure club, complete with a heated indoor pool, sauna, and sprawling gym. Rooms are contemporary, ultra-clean, and boast ultra-comfortable beds paired with large TVs. Having an on-site Starbucks and a lively Pub & Grill makes dining effortless.
While peak fitness hours can get busy, the stylish atmosphere, tech-forward check-in, and great facilities make it a top-tier choice.
