Could be a great place but the service was very poor - especially for the price - when we stayed
Pros:

The Inn and our room/suite were decorated and fitted out to a high standard. The breakfast was outstanding: generous and cooked to order. The breakfast service was great - very friendly and professional.

Cons:

The general levels of service were not good enough for the price we paid. We stayed on a Saturday night and there was a wedding or some other event happening. We had to wait quite a long time to check in and the service during our evening meal was poor. For example we ordered cocktails to start but were told we'd have to wait 20 minutes to get them, as the bar was too busy; they suggested just having a beer or wine instead. We had to hassle to get menus, and order and get the bill. Strangely the beds were only made up with one sheet to sleep under - no duvets and only one blanket between two beds. It's been extremely hot this summer but it wasn't actually that warm when we stayed. We asked for another blanket but it never arrived. Presumably weddings and events book a long time in advance, so it ought be straight forward to make sure there are enough staff working. All these weren't major issues and I'd usually be laid back about it, but they are charging a high price for their rooms, and they should be providing a higher level of service for the money.

Cons:

We were upgraded to the junior suite called Blagdon but it hadn’t been cleaned well. The carpet needed a good vacuum and clean. The bedroom area is quite cramped and possibly smaller than normal rooms but the shower room is a good size. I wouldn’t bother paying more for this suite because less you want an upstairs TV room. The TV in the bedroom could not get a signal.
I would stay again but not in this room.
