Continental breakfast was very tasty, with plenty of choice of cereals and pastries.
Dinner was so good in The Upper Deck on the first night, that we cancelled our booking for The Jetty for our 2nd night and returned to the Upper Deck. Our waiter, Phil was partly our reason for choosing the Upper Deck again, as he was very friendly and made us feel special. Please thank him on our behalf. Both myself and my partner were senior cabin crew for a major airline, so we have many years of experience working in customer service.
The weather was very warm and our room was extremely hot on our arrival. There was one fan in the room, but when we requested another fan, we were told that demand was high and the Receptionist could not guarantee that our request would be met. We did not receive another fan. I feel strongly that at the prices we were paying, the hotel should have been able to buy more fans for the basic comfort of their guests. Our room faced West, so the sun was shining into the room for several hours in the afternoon.
Staff on arrival were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Room was clean and very comfortable bed. Location good.
Spa facilities good.
Breakfast was total chaos. Long wait to be served and buffet not replenished with no fruit salad available after 9am. Staff did not seem to know what they should be doing. Sadly lovely welcoming staff from evening before not on duty when we left.
Location, food.
Dietary requirements staff may need extra training.
All corrected when a mistake occurred.
Staff & location
no air con
not much choice on buffet breakfast
Lovely hotel, friendly and welcoming and attentive staff
No thing not to like
Great location, lovely grounds, splendid views from garden.
No a/c in our room, too hot to sleep. Not really good enough at this price point.
The room rate ‘included breakfast’ but you have to pay extra if you want a cooked breakfast.
The view is spectacular. Evening meals were delicious. Staff attentive and genuinely friendly. Rooms comfortable.
Lack of air conditioning for this particular UK summer!
The staff were attentive and helpful, the location and food excellent.
No dislikes though air conditioning in the bedrooms is overdue.
Stunning location. Wonderful staff couldn’t do enough for you. Very friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend this hotel
The bed was so comfortable. The room was clean and tidy and the facilities and location were great. For me, having a bath was a big bonus too. Breakfast was amazing too.
The only negative comment is that there was no air conditioning, which in the current heatwave was almost unbearable. I understand that the hotel have applied to install air conditioning, which will be brilliant.

Great location and lovely few sitting in the garden for drinks before dinner.
The beds are amazing, very comfortable. The staff were very attentive and the welcome at reception was spot on!
Afraid we were at the hotel during the hot weather and the room was stifling. No AC just a fan, which honestly just moved the warm air around for a few hours. It was cooler in the corridor than the room.
Good location and the restaurants serve lovely seafood.
The rooms are sub- par; we had torn towels in our room and the toilet bowl was dark brown upon check-in. The staff did attend to these problems but clearly shows the housekeeping is very poor and understaffed.
The rooms are also unpleasantly warm in the summer months as there is no air conditioning and the small fan doesn’t really help. Not a hugely enjoyable stay if you are paying peak prices.
Excellent location . Lovely outside area overlooking the estuary . Great room . Lovely food but a bit expensive.
Cost . It was expensive
Beds are incredibly comfortable.
Restaurants excellent.
Shower didn't drain very fast.
Fan was very dirty..
We found that Lynn front of house was exceptional with managing the allocation of our room ensuring we had the room of our choice. Thank you Lynne. All the other staff could not be more attentive and helpful. Ensuring we had a lovely stay.
Great hotel beautifully furnished. Room was beautiful and bathroom really lovely. Fantastic views and lovely staff. Ate at The Jetty...we absolutely loved it great atmosphere, views and exceptional food.
Shutters in the room...some were broken so weren't sitting right which mean"t alot of light in room 205 came through with the added outside light on all night across from us. Therefore had a disturbed night sleep even with trusted eye mask I take every where with me.. Then just before 8am banging and a grinding machine started up opposite the front of the hotel. I'm sure they'll be feedback from other residents for Thursday 9th July.. Surely there should be an agreement with the hotel about expected times of construction work ...8am way way too early.. Work my husband. Nno chance of a lie on.
Very suprised to learn at 9.20 breakfast the fruit salad had ran out. Really disappointed at that and don't think thats acceptable either. At the same time saw three small bread batons and I asked are these the last three ? staff member confirmed back yes. Really poor and quite unreally for the standard of hotel. Wev'e all paid a lot of money to stay at the hotel.
Last thing clearly air onditioning is needed on the bedrooms.
