The hotel was looking old and needs updating, dirty headboard, and the overall cleanliness not very good. Some staff not very friendly or welcoming, not value for money.

This is an expensive hotel so our expectations were reasonably high. There were examples of good service but also examples of poor service. In our room, the towel rail didn't work, the sink drained only slowly, the windows were dirty, the coffee machine didn't work properly, it wasn't possible to tell what the coffee pods were, only choice of biscuit every day was stem ginger and the corridor outside our room seemed continually to be the main laundry sorting area. The hotel restaurant food was very expensive relative to the quality and when we asked for a little tartar sauce they added nearly £4 to the bill! This is a greedy overrated hotel.
