Good bed. Friendly staff (Beth was great)
Couldn't open the window more than a fraction and the room smelt strongly of onions (or something like that). Breakfast was poor. The bubble and squek was a crumbly lump of under cooked potatoe and diced carrot (really bad).
We waited nearly ten minutes to check in. For £200 + for 1 night it was disappointing.
Room was very beautifully decorated and relaxing. In room facilities were excellent. Bathroom was luxurious.
Room was small but it comfortable
Beautiful place , comfy bed
We stayed during an extreme hot period . We understand it’s a listed building but for it to survive in years to come , even portable air con units in the rooms would be beneficial . The staff did their utmost to help but the only air con was in the bar . We had a large room and we had to get two fans and could only open the windows a certain amount due to birds . This doesn’t take away that the staff were extremely accommodating to try and help . We had to keep coming down to cool off .
Location was fantastic and the staff was friendly and informative.
There was a wedding there the night I stayed and my room was directly over the reception area. The music was so loud the floor was shaking. There was a note in the room warning me about it and there had been a message sent before my arrival but I didn't anticipate exactly how loud it would be. I couldn't have gone to bed early if I wanted to. It was fine because I was in town for leisure but had I been there for business this would have been an issue.
Convenient to town and in a quiet area
No air conditioning available other than a small fan - I appreciate it is not normally needed and it was exceptionally hot but a chain of hotels charging in excess of £200 per night should in today’s times surely have aircon available
It was very pleasant staff were friendly food was great at breakfast there was complementary gin which I didn’t drink and complementary water that I did …
Could’ve been slightly cleaner I’m aware that my standards are incredibly high being the owner of a cleaning company
Beautiful interior
Nothing
Lovely historic hotel, situated in a great location. Hotel is clean and very comfortable and all staff we encountered were friendly, hapoy to have a laugh and have a joke.
Due to it being a historic building, air conditioning is not available so on really warm nights a fab is the only option bit all in all that did not detract to much from our stay.
Very central location
Too expensive for the room
Located in a beautiful building which gave the common areas a light and open feel. Great location on a quiet end of the main town. Not much parking on site but plenty readily available close by.
As it's an old building there isn't AC in the rooms so it can be a little warm in the bedrooms and hard to open the windows due to locks. Fans provided which helped. The lift has very noisy doors (one external and one internal grill door) so any rooms close to them can hear the opening and closing quite clearly. Could be helped with some decent sound proofing to both. We ended up moving from a lovely room due to this which was a shame. The bar was very off putting for a pre/post dinner drink, too many lights and hard surfaces so not what we would be expecting given the aesthetic elsewhere.
Nice big room, clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff.
Parking on site at £10 a night.
Massive bed.
Great location, helpful staff on the whole.
Bar staff weren’t very helpful they had run out of syrup for a particular cocktail and didn’t try to offer alternative options.
Локацията , чистотата и отношението на персонала !
Че бях за кратко 😕
Comfortable (superior/premium) room and v good bed. Car park (£10 per night). Excellent location.
Nice hotel but quite expensive so not great value for money. Continental breakfast was no better than ‘ok’. The cooked breakfast I had last time was good, I recall.)
Breakfast was great
Needs refurb in areas
