Where do I even begin? What a hotel, and what an experience.

If you ever have travel plans to Mumbai, this is a hotel you really should experience. I stayed here for three nights in June 2026 in a Taj Club Room.

From the moment you step inside, you immediately notice the level of service, the attention to detail, and the history that sits in the walls of this place. I really appreciated that this is a hotel that embraces and preserves its history and style, instead of trying to modernize in the wrong way.

The Taj Club Room is not dramatically bigger than the regular rooms, but you do get quite a few extras included, such as Afternoon Tea. I also felt that I received that little extra touch throughout my stay, both in terms of service and how I was treated. So I definitely do not regret paying extra for this room category. Airport pickup or drop-off was also included, and I was picked up by a very professional driver in a clean and comfortable car.

The room itself was clean, bright, and had intuitive light switches and controls, which is not always a given in hotels. The room was cleaned every day, and there was also a turndown service in the afternoon.

And this is where some of that attention to detail I mentioned really stood out. For example, the cables for my chargers were neatly bundled and rolled up. My running shoes were placed on their own little mat, with scented pads inside the shoes. Clothes that I had left out were folded neatly. And honestly, there were probably many more small details that I have already forgotten or cannot properly describe.

The Wi-Fi felt fast and was easy to connect to.

The gym is located downstairs by the pool area and has pretty much everything you would expect to find in a proper fitness center.

Breakfast is served in three different restaurants, and I only visited the largest one, which has a buffet. I went quite early every day, so there were always plenty of tables when I was there, but a little later I noticed there wa
