Der Ausblick auf den See war fantastisch, das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, es gibt einen Ruf-Service für die Nordlichter, die Bar und Restaurant ausgezeichnet.
Unser persönliches Highlight war das Hoteleigene Spa.

Cons:

Die offene Dusche und es war etwas hellhörig.

Charmantes Gasthaus mit historischem Flair
Pros:

Ein wirklich charmantes Gasthaus mit historischem Hintergrund und viel Atmosphäre. Besonders schön ist das vorzügliche Frühstück, das in mehreren kleineren, sehr stimmungsvoll eingerichteten Räumen serviert wird – allein das macht den Aufenthalt zu etwas Besonderem. Auch der Garten wird derzeit neu gestaltet und verspricht sicherlich noch mehr Aufenthaltsqualität.

Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis beim Zimmer ist – wie so vieles in Island – eher im höheren Bereich einzuordnen. Unser Zimmer lag nach hinten und etwas unterhalb des Straßenniveaus, was für eine Nacht aber völlig in Ordnung war. Wir hatten schließlich auch ausdrücklich kein Zimmer mit Seeblick gebucht.

Die Lage eignet sich hervorragend als Ausgangspunkt für Unternehmungen in die Ostfjorde, ins Hochland oder Richtung Mývatn. Insgesamt ein gemütlicher und atmosphärischer Aufenthalt in einem Haus mit viel Charakter.

Cons:

Bei der Ankunft auf dem Parkplatz war leider ein deutlicher Tiergeruch vom benachbarten Kuhstall wahrnehmbar. Im Hotel selbst war davon allerdings nichts zu bemerken.

De loin, le pire hôtel de l’Islande.
Pros:

Les chevaux en face.

Cons:

Le personnel était détestable. On s’est fait crier dessus sans raison avec un ton condescendant, j’ai pu remarquer qu’il parlait sur ce ton à tous les clients.

Cons:

Pillows to small and squishy. Upon arrival clerk was rude, couldn’t find our reservation. Finally he found it under the second room name, although I had made the reservation. Clerk upon departure was very nice!
