The WiFi didn’t work in our room.

For us there was nothing we didn't like.

Whilst some of the areas were bright and well cared for, the same could not be said for the staircase and corridor in the main building and the windows in the bedroom obviously hadn't been cleaned for quite a while. The bedroom carpet was also in need of a clean, as there were several, noticeable stains on it - one of them quite large. The toilet flush also made a dreadful noise. I appreciate renovating a large building can take time but the current owners have been there many years now (according to ChatGPT) so I would have expected everywhere to be as smart/clean as the more modern additions.

Rooms good but need a update which I understand is happening

The shower tray had a crack in it, both the shower and tap dripped water, and I don’t like combined body and hair soaps.

We were in room 25, the communal areas are in need of some TLC. Stains on carpets, and marks on walls, a bit disappointing for price paid for the room, we expected a bit more but area seemed a bit neglected.

Our room was also very hot, luckily we brought a fan with us.

The bed was quite small.

Dit hotel heeft een grote opknapbeurt nodig. Alles ziet er smoezelig uit. Zeer kleine badkamer met 1 kleine handdoek en 2 grotere weinig voor twee personen, erg vuile voegen, zeepbakje en handdouche houder zitten los. Vochtstrip op schuifdeur is kapot. Om het schuifraam open te houden hebben wij er een houten tissue box tussen moeten zetten.
Bij inchecken werden we verwezen naar onze kamer op de 1e verdieping, deze bleek op de 2e te liggen.
Er is geen ontbijt buffet, keuze uit de menukaart is beperkt als je niet van Porridge, zalm en Engels ontbijt houdt.
De eerste dag kreeg ik bij de omelette 3 sneetjes toast de 3e dag nog maar 1 sneetje.

It’s a little outdated but perfectly functional and I got it on a great deal!

No staff - just 1 person doing everything, so rooms not made up, tables not cleared. Hard to get help if needed

Hotel looks idyllic but hasn't had any investment in past few years and is starting to look very tired. Bathrooms need a deep clean and several need urgent repairs

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of not realizing that there would be no lift or ground floor room types that I booked. Registered disabled, my room was on the second floor. I initially was able to get up the stairs without much trouble but after coming down them and then obviously having to go back up them when I was eventually coming downstairs for the last time I talk about 10 minutes too. Slowly step by step my way down. Breakfast was also on the ground floor which I could not attend because I couldn't get down. I knew if I went to breakfast I wouldn't be able to return to my room and then obviously go back down the stairs.
Our room looked clean as you went in but on closer inspection the carpet was full of stains and paint work was patchy on the walls.
The only mirror to get dressed in front of was placed in the middle of a wall and I had to move a chair to sit in front of it and had no way to put my makeup or hair things and thus had to keep bending down towards the floor which didn't help with my back. There also wasn't any light suitable near the mirror. The bathroom had a mirror with a large light but I couldn't stand in front of the mirror to do my makeup there as well as they were steps down into the bathroom making it a bit more difficult and toilet trips a rarity.
The bed itself I'm sure would be comfortable for some but was very hard in my opinion. I could not get comfortable at all. But then again, that is my personal perspective as I'm not a fan of hard mattresses.

Breakfast wasn't great and took ages.
