Lovely stay in a bright airy room, very clean, smelt fresh. Body wash container in shower was empty but other than that
Pros:

Lovely bright airy room
The complimentary breakfast items, tea & coffee facility, and the fridge!

Cons:

The two pictures above the bed…. So out of place compared to the others!!
Felt a bit overlooked by the properties across from the bar garden.
Appreciated the fridge although the noises it made were somewhat haunting!!

Beautiful property with friendly, attentive staff. The garden is ideal for sitting outside on a warm night and the food
Pros:

Lovely large rooms in a gorgeous building and nice outdoor beer garden

Cons:

It was really hot in our room and the fan was very weak - made for an uncomfortable night’s sleep. They should upgrade the fans and it would be great.

Pros:

The hotel from the outside is a beautifully impressive building. However, internally it really needs to come into the 21st century with a 'major upgrade!'

Cons:

The fact that the Kitchen/restaurant was closed. Interior, quite shabby. Tea & coffee provided, very poor!!

Perfect for near town, independent feel .
Pros:

It’s quirky and easy going. The location was the thing for me as I needed to be in the area. The room (2) was quiet I was not aware of anyone else in the place. Woken with birdsong - that was cute as I live in a city.

Cons:

I did find I a little odd ( but acceptable as no one around on the Sunday morning when I left ) may have been my issue as I did not really have any contact with the staff as I was attending another venue. The room was perfect for me. Many people using the garden seating in a lovely evening.
I would use again if in the area - loved the history with regard to the tiles and the sister house just down the road. You don’t get that in a travel lodge - I did not try the food so can’t comment.

Pros:

Friendly staff with big rooms and well kept garden area

Cons:

We were on the ground floor and facing the garden but because of the almost floor to ceiling windows it felt a little exposed even though the glass was frosted on the bottom half

Great little stop off
Pros:

Lovely setup, very private, we didn’t actually see another person whilst we were there due to a very late check in due to a breakdown. Had an excellent time here, brilliant for kids with a good play area, and another big area to play at the other side of the building too.

Cons:

Shower tray broken, and bed very creaky, but these aren’t too big of a deal at all. I’d definitely go back

Comfortable and friendly
Pros:

Staff were helpful and friendly. Bed was clean and very comfortable. Plenty of parking available. Our group enjoyed taking part in the Sunday quiz.

Cons:

Lack of hangers in the wardrobe, and no towel rail or hook in the bathroom, but those are just little things. The owners had only been in for 5 weeks.

Good, eat elsewhere, needs TLC in areas
Pros:

Relaxed. Lovely old building . Bed very comfortable and clean room.

Cons:

Draughty windows in room need repair. Cups for tea/coffee were chipped, a few teabags for a whole weekend, a bit poor. Ordered food one night and it was terrible. Shame as staff and service was friendly.
