Excellence location
Pros:

Very good location if you are attending conference in Melbourne exhibition center. DFO is just next door. Breakfast is ok. Staff are really nice and friendly.

Cons:

Room was not perfectly clean.

Great staff and location for MECC Congress attendees - otherwise I would not stay there again.
Pros:

The Novotel staff were very friendly and exceedingly helpful.

Cons:

Definitely not a 5 star hotel, beds were uncomfortable, pillows too soft, room cleaning when allowed in was poor (sometimes not vacuumed, supplies not restocked and as an example, tissues when restocked were just jammed in place so as a guest I had to fix it). Parking arrangement were good BUT the method of entry and exit for guests rarely worked properly - most annoying when you have cars stacked behind you at busy times - DFO the provider needs to up its game as it reflects poorly on Novotel. In hotel meal and drink facilities were poor (service and opening times). Meals were mediocre and appalling slow - again this reflects poorly on the hotel.

Great location, excellent rooms, friendly service
Pros:

Excellent location, especially if you are in Melbourne for a conference at the Melbourne Convention Center. The hotel is almost co-located next door. Adjacent to a large DFO with a food court, and a promenade with excellent restaurants. There is a convenience store across the street.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Easy to find Uber / Taxi pick up point with a near constant stream of vehicles coming to to the Convention Center.
The room was comfortable, clean and very spacious. The thermostat actually did permit individual settings (unlike many hotels where the max temperature is set, often below my liking). This is an important factor for me selecting hotels, and Novotel delivered.
There is room service and a restaurant on site but I didn't avail myself of this.
Overall, a great stay, and will stay here again without hesitation.

Cons:

You would first need to take the elevator to Level 5 where the Reception is located, and take another set of lifts located at the other end of the building to your floor. Not really an issue.
