Strange arrival procedure

Cold shower the first night after that ok

Very abusive staff. Even continued to provide abuse via once checked out. This was due to a payment error with work but instead i received abuse and was called a scammer and inform police. Very unprofessional

We stayed here on Saturday night for one night. There were four of us in total: myself, my husband, and another couple. We paid £60 per couple for our rooms.

Before arriving, I phoned the owner to ask whether we could check in an hour early. She answered and said she was at the property and that if we arrived within five minutes, she would let us in. We arrived within a minute and waited outside the entrance, ringing the bell and calling several times.

After waiting approximately 15 minutes, I called again to say we were at the door. During the call, she laughed and put the phone down.

I then noticed she had sent a message saying she could not wait any longer and that we should come back later.

As we walked back towards our car, she opened the door and let us in.

The check-in experience was unusual. She commented that we were from Yorkshire while laughing, counted through a box of keys, handed us two keys, said "Rooms 15 and 16," walked away, then turned back to add that our rooms were upstairs.

We found the interaction strange but chose not to think too much about it and continued with our stay.

The following morning, when we opened our room door, the owner was standing outside, which made us feel uncomfortable.

We left and began our journey home.
On the way home, I started reading previous reviews and was surprised to find numerous reports from other guests describing unexpected additional charges, unusual behaviour, false accusations, and aggressive communication from the owner.

Shortly after arriving home, my husband received a message stating that the owner needed to speak to him urgently.

She then repeatedly called and accused us of leaving human faeces on the bed. This allegation is completely false and came as an enormous shock. We left the room clean and tidy, as we always do wherever we stay.

We then discovered that an additional £60 had been taken from my husband's bank account.

Unfortunately check in was before 8pm and I arrived 9:10pm key was left inside on a table

The hotel shut for the night at 8pm which is fine, but I wasn’t aware. So the hotel kindly sorted access for me at a later time, but I think this should have been clearer on booking.com where I booked.
