Beautiful hotel and garden. Wonderful staff. Excellent food and service.
We left a day early due to the heat and concerns about our room. The staff and manager were very understanding and refunded our final night's payment.
I chose this hotel because it had a lift. However, there were quite a few steps between the lift and our room. Worse still, inside our room there was a steep step between the bedroom and the bathroom, which was very worrying.
During the heatwave, there seemed to be no air-conditioning in any communal areas
Amazing location, right in the forest, beautiful garden, so friendly & dog friendly. Amazing breakfast never seen a light English breakfast at any hotel such a great idea ..
Only that no air conditioning as weather was so hot found the room too hot & only heavy duvet . Need the option of just a sheet. Also could not charge our electric toothbrush as no shaver plug in the bathroom.
It was ideally located for trips around the New Forest. The garden was beautiful and very spacious. It was ideal for drinks before evening meals.

Perfect location for walking in the New Forest. Breakfast very good, comfy bed, room generally OK. Lovely garden to sit out in after a day's walking.
Room needed some TLC. Decor needed fixing, holes in the wall where things used to hang, door into garden needed maintenance and repainting. Debris from previous occupants in bathroom. Had to send dinner back 1 evening as it wasn't up to standard. The garden bar is supposed to be open Friday through Sunday, but was closed (on Friday) - we were told that was due to staff shortages ...... which may explain why we had to go and find the place where the garden seating cushions were stored - these used to be put out by staff. In the morning, glasses hadn't been cleared from the previous evening which isn't great when you want to sit out for a coffee in the early morning sun. £280 per room per night with breakfast not included is a lot of money so we'd expect top dollar service and we didn't get that this time.

A beautiful hotel in a great location. Very clean and comfortable rooms, great food and friendly, helpful staff.

Ligging in het midden van New Forest. Goede uitvalsbasis.
Kamer op het gelijkvloers met directe toegang tot het terras. Lag 's middags in de schaduw.
We waren er in het begin van de hittegolf en de kamer was nog relatief koel in vergelijking met de rest van het hotel.
Van de 'manager' mocht er 's avonds niet op het terras gegeten worden. Terwijl het buiten merkelijk minder warm was. De eerste avond namen mensen hun eten/drank zelf mee naar buiten. De daaropvolgende avonden werd het strikt verboden door het personeel.
Buiten ontbijten mocht ook niet terwijl de ene deur van het ontbijtbuffet toegang gaf tot het terras en de andere tot de dinerzaal.
Terras werd 's avonds niet afgeruimd; hier en daar kapotte zetels.
