The staff are lovely, the bed was uncomfortable-the room dirty and the food was
Pros:

The staff were really lovely apart from one member of staff who was more interested in speaking to an off duty member of staff and left us waiting for a while.

Cons:

The food was really poor. The very expensive dinner we had was cold.
For breakfast the poached eggs included the water they were cooked in was on the plate, the toast was rock hard and items were forgotten only to be dumped on the side of the plate when asked about. Granted we were told the chef didn’t turn up and they had to get agency staff in but the price (£18 for fish and chips) was very expensive for what you received. My husband had ham egg and chips - the ham was stone cold as were his eggs. I don’t like to leave negative reviews but the only good thing about the hotel were the staff. We paid for two nights but left after one night and came home

Very uncomfortable never again.
Pros:

The breakfast was good amount quality and the waitress was lovely.

Cons:

The floors were on a slope being an old building, they did I not level the bed up properly and my wife rolled out of bed because of the level problem. Couldn’t turn the cold tap on in the bath and when I managed to get it on I couldn’t turn it of. And the bed was very hard. Most unpleasant nights rest I have ever had in a hotel. And the evening meal prices were ridiculous. Luckily found a great local pub and 50 meters away.

Two night stay
Pros:

Location edge of Dartmoor moor
Breakfast very good selection
Could have given more beans
Sauces not readily available
Fruit juice & yoghurts superb
Bed comfortable and very clean room
Toiletries really nice
Homemade biscuits & quality teas and coffee.
Allowing dogs in the breakfast room.

Cons:

I know it was exceptional hot weather the room was very hot and very difficult to cool down With no air on and fans did not work.

Climbing over the bath having to hold the toilet to get in and out for a shower. Not what I expected to do. Very dangerous for older people.

Carpet in the hotel worn.

Pipe going across the top step going to the room I was worried I would knock it.

Pros:

Staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Great being able to take my dog and the welcome pack for her was very thoughtful. We had dinner both evenings which was delicious . The rooms are very nice, super comfortable bed. The parking was very near and reasonable. Excellent butchers, pasty was one of the nicest I had had for a long time, nice little grocers as well. Great base for exploring.

Cons:

Moretonhampstead itself is a bit run down.
