Authentic countryside stay
Pros:

Location - less than 2 miles out of Thirsk town centre with scenic views.
Had the added pleasure of countryside smells as unfortunately the nearby farmer had been muck spreading 😂 - however an electric fan had been provided in the room so we didn't have to open the window.
Friendly welcome on arrival with all the info needed to get the best out of our stay, including dining facilities/arrangements, staff availability & check out procedure.
We didn't use the bar or restaurant during our 1 night stay so unable to comment re menu, service, facilities etc
Nice clean & crisp bed linen & comfy bed.
A hand towel & bath towel provided for each of us , unlike a similar well known budget friendly hotel , + a bath mat.
Tea & coffee facilities in the room which although needed an update re furnishings & paintwork, was roomy & clean.

Cons:

There was nothing we didn't like - as mentioned above, a few changes would be welcomed & we didn't use the dining or bar facilities so unable to comment on those.

Uncomfortable but fine
Pros:

- Decent location for what we needed it for
- Had Yorkshire teas
- Plenty of parking

Cons:

- One side of the bed was totally worn out
- Fan in room was broken, but I managed to take it apart and fix it myself
- Room overlooked the neighbours who were extremely loud and obnoxious
- Our room was left unlocked by staff after they were in our room
- Our old bin bag was just left on our bed instead of it being taken out
- Shower pressure so low you can’t wash your hair

Complete disregard for regular client

I had a long journey to get there and I have stayed before..they had canceled my room..some silly excuse ..but it is unforgivable...i was left high and dry with nowhere to stay..the town was fully booked and so I had to catch a taxi to the next town 14 miles away..it was so unprofessional..I'm really angry about it

Lovely location and great staff, value for money.
Pros:

Greeted by a very friendly lady who made us feel welcome immediately. The location was great, room was very clean and food and service excellent.

Pros:

Close to Thirsk, free parking

Cons:

Room on a main road and kept awake all night with loud engine noise, tired and basic room, mattress like a pool table and pillows as thick as tissue paper, tiny bathroom with inadequate lighting for contact lens insertion and shaving.
