This hotel is overpriced for the quality of the rooms. The beds were very worn, with noticeable dips in the middle of the mattresses, which appeared not to have been flipped or properly maintained. The breakfast was pleasant but inconsistent in quality. We also used the relaxation room and dry sauna, but were concerned that the accessible bathroom had scalding hot water, with only a warning sign posted. If the hotel is aware of this safety hazard, it should be fixed rather than simply noted.
The room was nice and large, with amenities such as bottled water, chocolates, side tables, and comfortable bedding. The breakfast was nice (made to order), and the service was good. The environment was very inviting.
There was no elevator, so we had to carry our bags up and down the stairs. However, there was someone there to help upon request. They ran out of towels during our stay.
My father and I stayed here during our tour of Scotland in separate rooms. Overall, the hotel feels modern and well-kept. We were happy with the rooms and the breakfast, and the plentiful parking was welcome. I also observed a couple EV chargers (we had a ICE rental, I cannot comment on charging speed). My room was right above the smoking area, which meant I was treated to the smell of cigarettes several times during the night we stayed.
Checkin was a high-touch experience, which likely appeals to the sort of clientele that are willing to pay the rates they charge for rooms. For us, it felt a bit overbearing.
The hotel does not appear to have a lift, and, while staff were on hand to carry suitcases upstairs, guests should be aware there are lots of stairs throughout.
Overall, I struggle to reconcile the experience with the price paid. I may stay again if I visit the Isle of Skye, but I will do it with eyes wide open that the value does not match the room rate.
It was modern and contemporary.
The staff were not very welcoming at reception they chatted a lot to each other and barely looked up when we walked in. This was most days at reception while we were there.
Easy booked, great location, very clean, comfy bed and fantastic breakfast. Staff helpful, late booking but still managed a late checkout no problem.
Thought the cost when booked at 7pm for that night could be reduced when hotel not nearly full.
Cold or undercooked food, terrible service, overcharged compared to their website, never again
Beautiful setting at the back of the property. Dining was delicious, breakfast & dinner
Me and my friend got violently sick a few days before our trip and called to cancel. I asked if it was possible to get a refund, to which they said yes, as long as we contact the agent we went through to book them. I did that and the agent came back with that they refused the refund. I called them again regarding this and they didn’t have time to assist me and blew me off. Had we known they would have refused us, we could have given the stay to family or friends, since it was already paid for. Very dissappointing and unprofessional. We were thinking of coming to Portree some other time, but I know for certain that we won’t be using this hotel anymore.
Location, cleanliness,

An absolutely fantastic stay! From the moment we arrived we had an amazing time
Stayed 3 nights with my wife to celebrate her birthday, the room we had was lovely and clean with a super comfy bed and stunning views.
We had breakfast each day and evening meal in the hotel twice, delicious. So well cooked and beautifully presented.
A mention to the staff, every team member was so friendly and helpful, it really made a difference to our stay. Special thanks to Chloe and Rachel who were great in the restaurant, and to Abi who sorted a couple of requests in our room.
Without doubt we would stay again and have already recommended this hotel to others .
Thanks for making the weekend so special for us both
Room had a lovely view of the garden and the harbor in the distance. Quiet, clean, cozy, and comfortable, with a good restaurant on site for breakfast and dinner and other spa-like amenities. On site parking and a fairly central location on Skye made daytripping easy. 10 minute walk to the center of Portree for shops and restaurants.
