At check in I waited in the Expedited check in line but nobody was there to greet me and in the regular line the girl was checking in couple. Once they finished checking in, the girl looked at me and she just said that it was there to check in. Then, a new couple arrived to check in so I looked at the receptionist and asked if she wanted me to walk there since there was no sign that she was going to switch stations to take care of me to what she responded that yes, that I could go to her station for check in and she told the arriving couple I was first.
Also, when I asked for my Globalist upgrade to a suite (the hotel just had two junior terrace suites available) the receptionist girl told me that there was not any available despite I told her that in the app there was availability for the days in which I was staying at the property. Finally they ended giving me the upgrade but I had to wait for almost 2 hours despite I arrived at the standard check in time.
I did not like that the receptionist lied to me and then she was constantly reticent on not giving me the Globalist upgrade despite having the room.
Also, once I had the upgrade, the first night of my arrival I asked to the front desk to bring me cutlery to my room and that request was never honored so I had to eat my sushi with the ice tongs of my room.
On Saturday, I called the front desk to check out a burned light on roof and to fix the general switch of the room and after the handyman tried to fix it (which he could not) he had to leave shortly (supposedly) to open another guest's door and I had to wait him for almost an hour so he could take out the things that he left in the room (stair, gear, etc) and to place back in place the lights. I had to call the front desk so the handyman could take out the things he left for over an hour at my room.
On the good side, I had a small meeting with some friends at my room in one of the nights I stayed at the hotel and the staff had such a great disposition on bringing to my room extra chairs, lights, power cords, ice, etc.
Also, the hotel manager apologized for all the inconvenience caused during my stay and gifted me a plate with some sweet treats (which were astonishing) and a note apologizing for everything. Besides of that they waived me one of the nights I stayed in the hotel for all the time I lost dealing with the necessary repairs at the hotel.
Overall the hotel is in a prime and secure location in Santiago de Chile close to the subway and the business district. The staff were able to amend all the inconvenience caused with the repairs that I had to deal and they deliver a great service despite the original disappointments at check in. I definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who is a World of Hyatt member or someone who wants to stay in a great price/quality hotel in a good location.
