Well positioned hotel, with clean rooms but need to lift their game!
Pros:

Well situated hotel and room was clean.
Unfortunately no chairs in the room so dragged in a couple from outside. No microwave and found out next morning that the last guy who stayed in that room must have stolen it!!

Cons:

I had stayed in this historic property some years ago and rebooked because of the great experience I had last time - a few drinks in the bar, chat with locals and good food in the restaurant . Felt sorry for the manager in the bar as they have not been able to get a chef so no food and he closed the bar before 7pm as no clientele!! Su

SHIT HOLE 💩
Pros:

This place is a rundown mess
Our room was falling apart and we paid extra to get a better room
The annex was terrible and 2 other guests were NUDE in the bath out our window
Place is run by amateurs and they delt with our grievances as expected by passing it off !!!
DRIVE ON DO NOT STAY HERE
PS * The restaurant is closed although they don’t tell you that online

GO! Wallow in the historical glory and dream of the parties that were once held there.
Pros:

Spending 3 days in an art-deco museum was great. I loved all the memorabilia and furnishings from my grandmother's era. I was impressed by the scale of the place and the bar is enormous. Also the staff were lovely and made me feel at home so even though I was there for work, this was a very relaxing 3 days.

Cons:

This building is 100 years old so of course it's a bit frayed around the edges. I appreciated the living history - I think heritage buildings SHOULD be used all the time and they're doing their best to achieve this.

Pros:

Gorgeous historic building. The bar-room is spectacular and sitting on the balcony is a joy . Yes..it needs work but its clean, comfy and has very nice staff. I love the feeling that its still in the 1920s...its like living history. Do not miss this exoerience.

Economical option to stay in Charleville
Pros:

Central location and economical option to stay

Cons:

Photos of the rooms were deceiving and not a representation of the rooms. Shower was old and the water was too hot or too cold. It flood the whole bathroom anytime anyone had a shower. There were spider cobwebs everywhere and dust. Friendly staff and nice food though the menu is on the more expensive side.

Pros:

Nostalgic and grand old hotel. Very spacious inside

Cons:

No tea and coffee provided. Light switches hard to locate in shared bathroom. My room was not made up so needed to change rooms.

The location was good and it would have been a grand hotel in its day. Lovely old pub experience.

Cons:

The cleanliness totally let this pub down. The rubbish bins in the shared ladies toilets were overflowing with sanitary products and had not been emptied for our entire four day stay. Our room had not been serviced out of hand wash, shampoo and shower gel. Bins weren’t emptied and I used the bath mat to wipe the dust of everything. The room had obviously not been vacuumed or dusted for some time. I advised management. Met cleaner next day in corridor and she apologised and said sorry I forgot! A shame because otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

Do not book here. Despite having a confirmed reservation, I arrived to find an empty hotel with zero staff on-site. There was no way to get my key, no lockbox, and the phone went unanswered after 30+ attempts. Booking.com tried to help, but even they couldn't get a response.
I ended up having to sleep in my car in the hotel parking lot. It’s a sad downfall for a place with so much history. This hotel is completely unmanaged and unsafe for travelers. I am demanding a full refund. Save your money and stay somewhere else where the staff actually shows up.

Nothing.worst accommodation experience i have had anywhere in the world.

Cons:

No sheets on the bed, no pillar cases. Bag of rubbish left on the floor. Kitchen not open and bar shut when we came back from the takeaway around the corner
