Por poner un pero diría que delante hay un hotel que por la noche pone la música/karaoke muy alto..y se oye mucho...pero claro..no es cosa del hotel

Pros:

I had a wonderful stay in the dorm rooms of WesTory! Every encounter I had with the staff was so kind and helpful. The dorm rooms are very nice: each bed has a curtain, personal light, and outlet. The shared bathrooms are really spacious, clean, and have hot showers. There are also a couple of nice common areas to relax or eat a meal.

This was the perfect place for my stay in Kanchanaburi! But it might not be for everyone. If you’re a solo traveler looking to socialize, I wouldn’t recommend. I only met one other person in my dorm in the four days I was there. Most of the time I was alone. I went in July so it’s not high season, maybe it’s different in January.

Secondly, the location is not that close to the main tourist walking street if those kinds of shops and restaurants are important to you. It’s about a 20 minute walk minimum or 45 minute walk all the way to the River Kwai Bridge.

Things that are located close are the death railway museum and cemetery (10-15 min walk), one of the main night markets (JJ night market, 15 min walk), train and bus station (15 min walk in opposite directions), and skywalk (15-20 min walk). It’s also close to the Saturday night market. So overall it’s pretty central, just not where all the resorts and tourist oriented places are located.

If you want to rent motorbikes, the staff guide you to a really great rental place and even provide transportation to get there since it’s a long walk. They have all the information at the front desk. Usually the hotel offers bicycle rental, but unfortunately they were under repair when I visited.

The WiFi worked great as did the air conditioning.

Cons:

The only thing I recommend for improvement is the card system for electricity in the dorm rooms. To have electricity, you need to put a key card in the slot by the door (there’s only one slot). This works for regular private rooms, but not very well for a shared dorm. When there’s more than one person in the dorm room, it makes it a bit awkward and requires coordination to keep continuous electricity if someone leaves and takes their card (since you need it to enter the room as well).

The room was great and the staff really helpful. 7/11 very close and train station reachable by foot.

Cons:

Bar with live music in front of the hotel. No double glass windows. Loud music until early morning. Great if you want to join in. Not great if you are with kids or want to have a good night sleep...

Centraal in Kanchanaburi maar niet voor herhaling vatbaar
Pros:

Centrale ligging.

Cons:

Het duurde erg lang tot de kamer koel was. De airco maakt een hard geluid. In de badkamer zat geen airco en was het echt bloedheet. Je kon de deur niet open zetten naar de slaapkamer want dan werd het daar ook heet.

Wij hadden met ontbijt. Je kon maar 1 ding kiezen uit een lijst van 6. Was dus echt beperkt. Geen jochies of fruit ofzo.

Tegenover het hotel zit een café oid waar ze tot rond 13 uur lawaai maken. Dit hoor je goed op je slaapkamer.

Ik kan niet begrijpen dat dit een 4 sterren hotel is.

Wij hadden 4 kamers omdat we met 8 personen waren en elke kamer heeft dezelfde ervaring als ik hier beschrijf. Wees dus gewaarschuwd!
