The Best Hotel in Carlisle
Pros:

Centrally located, this Edwardian hotel is big, spacious and classy. Located in the main plaza, ots a stone's throw from supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, the Castle and Museum, and the bus and train stations.
They have a 12 metre indoor pool, just big enough for an ocean swimmer like me to stretch my muscles in after a long walk on Hadrian's Wall.
The bedroom was spacious and looked out over the plaza. Comfy bed!

Cons:

The musty smell in the restaurant, so ate out.

Pros:

It was on a good location

Cons:

The lift was filthy
Room was not clean
Wardrobe was a mess. Iron full of water and messy
Bed throw and cushion dirty and carpet badly stained
Shower and bath awful
Staff were not welcoming
I walked miles to my room courtesy or reception and no guidance
Housekeeping team put clean linen with no bag straight onto the carpet where people walked by with suitcases
Very dated room

Poor start and tiny cramped hot room
Pros:

Location convenient in the town centre, near shops.

Cons:

Room was tiny, far to small.
Rude woman finally answered intercom for parking at the back of the hotel and was very curt and rude and said she would let me in soon.... 10 minutes later I was still waiting and had to walk all the way around on foot to the front of the hotel and ask reception to open the car park gates at the back. The 2 ladies on reception seemed nice, though neither knew who was 'manning the parking intercom and who left me stood waiting for 10 mins and NEVER did let me in.

Some thing ok some really bad
Pros:

Room was nice the hotel is nice the location is fantastic

Cons:

Some of the staff were a bit frosty
The breakfast was shocking
Cereal was readily available when we went to go up for hot food it was slim pickings and some items weren’t there. We had finished and gone before our tea and toast come.
So all in all I payed all that money for a bowl of cereal and a glass of juice
