Bâtiments anciens très bien restaurés et dans la vieille ville en face du canal / Pdj japonais très bon dans un espace agréable. Parking en face. Pour ceux qui utilisent l’aéroport de Narita, c’est à côté
I really appreciate the hotel acquired the traditional Japanese building and turned them into hotel rooms so we got to experience and understand how it feels look to live in a Japanese traditional house. Though it is a little inconvenient that bathtub/shower room is in a separate individual building, apart from the main building where we stay in the 2nd floor of it, and the toilet is on the first floor (some distance from bedroom comparing to normal hotels) I still very like the stay and highly recommend the place.
It would be better to put sign for room/toilet/bath place. Me and my mom spent 10mins looking for toilet in the building because there are many doors look like doors but they are not. 😂

We had a room beside the canal, which is really nice. Room was as expected. Having two levels was interesting, although the stairs were very steep and may pose issues for those with mobility problems.
It would be nice if the room had a bit more natural light.
The staff were very helpful and always tried their best to serve. Breakfast was delicious. Overall, it’s a charming ryokan with comfortable beds and pillows. I especially loved the soft yukata.
Like the previous reviewer mentioned, I wish the hotel provided a luggage cart or staff assistance for bags. The room was in a separate building several blocks away from check-in, requiring guests to walk along roads without sidewalks. This also made it inconvenient to reach staff when needed. Security was another concern, the main entry doors could not be locked, and shoes had to be left in a shared cabinet with other tenants. The steep stairs were difficult with no help for luggage. Additionally, dinner service was very slow (over 1.5 hours) and the food was mostly cold.
The breakfast was amazing and one of the best meals we had on this trip! Our room was beautiful and really enhanced the experience of the old town. They provided us with many free amenities and comfortable beds.
The wifi was a bit spotty during the evening.
Alte Merchant Häuser, die toll renoviert wurden und zu netten Apartments umgestaltet wurden.
Unser Apartment hieß Yata und war sehr großzügig geschnitten.
Die einzelnen Apartments sind in Sawara verstreut.
Viele liegen am Fluss.
Zum Frühstück muss man ins Haupthaus gehen.
Das japanische Frühstück war sehr gut.
Da am Abend in Sawara alle Restaurants um
18 Uhr schließen, sollte man sich überlegen, ob man das Abendessen Angebot im Nipponia Restaurant im Haupthaus annimmt.
Schade, dass wir nur eine Nacht in dem tollen Apartment verbracht haben.

部屋に関して予約時にもっと説明等のinformationが欲しかった。二階の寝室への階段は高齢者にとっては脅威？
外が全然見えない間取り知っていたら絶対に予約しないと思います。
情報不足の一言＞
The rooms are at different locations in the town. We stayed at the Shippou building which is just beside the ja ja bridge, where the river boats set off from. It was a really good location, essentially right in the middle of the prettiest part of town where it gets lively on weekends and probably the festival times. Breakfast is at the main hotel which is about a 5 minute walk away.
The room was fantastic with quality amenities. Breakfast (at the main hotel) was excellent.
Not so much something that we didnt like, but we arrived on a Thursday and it was very quiet in town with not much open. Friday and Saturday were much better. That is pretty typical of rural destinations in Japan.

Great area with traditional Japanese buildings and next to the canal. The room and bathroom were also very well designed.
There are no sidewalks, and you have to walk along a busy road to get to your room. I like walking, but in this case, it would be helpful if the hotel had a golf cart to take guests to their room.
Da ich kein Fisch und Meerefrüchte mag bin ich sehr zufrieden das auf meine Wünsche eingegangen wurde. Als erstes Hotel nach einem langen Flug ist es perfekt und es war auch sehr ruhig.
We like the room combined the original architecture with modern furniture. The breakfast and dinner at the main building was very nice.
Lovely architecture, interior and steps away from the old town. Kids enjoyed the onsen bath and the comfy beds prepared for them.
Renovated historic house, bathtub, yukata, activity, dinner and breakfast.
The stairs are very steep 😅 I like to look at it but not walk up and down. Be sure to pack light.
