Coffee at breakfast
Cooked breakfast and porridge were good. Limited selection of other cold foods - eg croissants - or fruit to add to cereal or porridge.
Shower did not work. Hotel offered an alternative room, but we had so little time, we were unable to change. As recompense, they did provide a free dinner, which was good. A minor observation, but access to the carpark was up a couple of flights of narrow steps - which were overgrown and, when it had rained, wet.
The hotel is as clean and the room was comfortable .
I thought that the property was overpriced . I was aware that it was built several centuries ago but the interior of the rooms and dining room let it down . In trying to keep with the original features the rooms were tired and shabby and in need of a refit . I felt that it could have had some more features to link it with the area and history of the hotel itself . Room was comfortable and clean but you so are rooms in a travel lodge and the rooms and bathrooms are in need of an upgrade . Food was good and service friendly .

Bed broke when sat on so needed to change room. New room had broken window that wouldn’t close, broken heater, no radiator.

Einzig empfehlenswert die Bar mit geschätzten 1000 Whiskysorten.
Unfreundlicher Empfang, abgewohntes Zimmer, sehr laut von der Strasse auch bei geschlossenem Fenster, ebenso laut von allen Nachbarzimmern, sogar über uns. Praktisch kein Internet. Badezimmer grindig. Frühstück nur auf Bestellung, keinerlei Kuchen oder Süsses, nur kalter Toast. Und das für viel Geld!
