Experience at Bencedir Hotel

We recently had a fantastic stay at Bencedir Hotel in Hanoi, and I can't recommend it enough!

From the moment we arrived, Michael and Heather at the reception made us feel right at home. Their friendliness and willingness to assist with any inquiries or requests truly enhanced our experience. They provided us with great local tips and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

The food at the hotel was another highlight. Each meal was delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from. It was a pleasure to try different dishes every day, and the quality was consistently high.

Room cleanliness was impeccable as well; the daily cleaning service ensured our space was always tidy and well-stocked with amenities. It’s clear that the hotel places a strong emphasis on guest comfort.

Additionally, the location is perfect for exploring Hanoi. It’s conveniently situated near many attractions, making it easy to immerse ourselves in the local culture.

Prime location and quiet at night
Pros:

Great hotel in an excellent location, with easy access to basic services, restaurants, and the night markets. The staff were incredibly friendly and always happy to share helpful local information. Breakfast had plenty of variety, with a few items changing daily. I’d recommend upgrading your room for the extra space if possible. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily stay here again.

Need a make over..
Pros:

If not because of the good customer service by the staff, I will rate my experience here as 2 stars. We had a great time in Hanoi but if this hotel is good, then our trip might be a wonderful one. Seriously this establishment need to be renovated so that it can serve guest better. Even though the price that we paid is affordable, the quality should be up to the standard. Most of the pictures shown is not up to date and it gave us wrong impression about this hotel and it could be confusing for guests. I would not want to post or upload any pictures of this hotel because we respect the staff at Bendecir Hotel & Spa. Cleanliness is an issue here. I wish the team well and all the best in the future. One of the worst and most suffocating hotels I have ever stayed in.
Pros:

I planned a 10-day tour to Vietnam, and my first hotels in Hanoi and Da Nang were excellent. For the last 2 days in Hanoi, I booked Bendecir Hotel and Spa, and honestly, that was my biggest mistake.

I booked two Executive Deluxe rooms for my family and kids, but the hotel provided rooms on the 4th and 7th floors. I requested nearby rooms or rooms on the upper floor, but they informed me they had only one deluxe room per floor.

Anyway, we accepted the rooms, but after entering, the experience became horrible. The bed had long hair on it, the AC was not working properly, and when we tried to call reception, we found the phone wire broken and disconnected.

The hotel is extremely narrow and feels very suffocating, almost like being inside a narrow tunnel.

The next morning during breakfast on the 13th floor, there were no labels in front of the food items, so you could not even understand what you were eating. The kitchen and dining area were very congested. While sitting at the table, AC water was leaking from the ceiling. Most staff members could not understand English, so even asking about food items became difficult.

Another major issue was the single lift in the hotel. Since staff members were also constantly using it, guests had to wait 4–5 minutes many times just to use the elevator. Even the lift had a smoking smell despite the hotel claiming to have non-smoking rooms and signs everywhere.

The images shown on TripAdvisor are completely different from reality. Online photos look bright, clean, and luxurious, but the actual hotel is dull, poorly maintained, and badly in need of renovation.

Overall, it was a very bad experience and felt like a nightmare during the final part of our trip. The biggest relief was checking out and leaving for the airport.

After this experience, I will never blindly trust TripAdvisor reviews again. It was a big lesson for me. No way it was 4 star hotel its worst than 1 star.

Bendicir Hotel &Spa 4-Night stay
Pros:

We has a wonderful 4-night stay in this hotel in Old Quarter Hanoi. The staffs were incredibly warm, friendly, and very accommodating throughout our stay. They always greeted us with a smile and were ready to assist with anything we needed, making us feel truly welcome and comfortable.
The room were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring the city. The location also very convenient since it is with in walking distance to many tourist spots, night market, and restaurants in the Old Quarter.
Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommended this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi. It definitely made our trip more relaxing and convenient!

A Gem In The French Quarter!
Pros:

Although the lobby isn't the prettiest, the rest of the hotel is! The rooms are stunning with comfortable beds, blackout curtains and sturdy walls to block sound along with a slick bathroom. You also get a discounted drink at the rooftop bar when you stay and the hotel is located in the fantastic French Quarter. Practically a steal in their nightly rate!

Good location but expected better from photos
Pros:

The rooftop bar has great views but unfortunately we were too busy to relax up there.
Location is very good and close to the lake.

Cons:

Unfortunately there wasn’t a walk in spa to get a massage, you have to phone reception for them to arrange for a masseuse to come over.
Not super clean and shower flooded due to uncleaned drains so we had to clean them out.

Great location but feels claustrophobic & needs a serious clean!
Pros:

If mouldy shower curtains and dirty lifts are your thing, then maybe this is for you.

The location is great, but you hear the noisy streets of Hanoi city until early in the morning. The whole hotel feels quite claustrophobic but we did have a big bed and seems like a bigger room comparing to what I have read from other reviews. Overall the hotel is in serious need of a renovation… or at the very least, a deep clean.

HOWEVER, there is one absolute gem: the sky bar. It’s beautiful. You get amazing views over the whole city, and the cocktails are strong and actually really good.

Breakfast was okay, nothing memorable.

Stay for the location maybe, visit for the sky bar definitely but otherwise I won’t be coming back to this hotel.

Carino, ma da migliorare nella pulizia e nei comportamenti

La posizione. Si trova nel quartiere vecchio a due passi dal lago.

Cons:

La pulizia in generale non è stata soddisfacente . Nelle camere , il bagno risultava pulito solo superficialmente. Molto spiacevole anche trovare le pareti dell'ascensore sporche.
Infine, il personale, seppur gentile e disponibile, la sera al nostro rientro lo abbiamo trovato sdraiato sui divanetti all ingresso a piedi nudi: comportamento poco professionale e non piacevole da vedere.

This is a great location. Ive stayed here a few times and enjoyed it every time.

Cons:

I was in the tiny room. This hasn't been an issue in the past when I was out and about all the time But unfortunately had to spend more time in the room and it definitely felt small.

Central location, congested room and bathrooms
Pros:

Central location in old quarter. If you are looking for shopping in old quarter then only choose this location. Rooms are very conjusted. No room for movement. Same is case with bathroom. We got it in around 45USD. Value wise it's good property but if you are looking for lavish stay you can avoid this.
Not much options for Vegan in breakfast.
