Good option for staying near Taunton, Somerset.
Pros:

Very friendly staff. Bathroom with walk in shower as requested. Excellent restaurant with fine dining options and skilful preparation. Good breakfast cooked to order.
Nice out of town location with beautiful garden. 5 minute walk to local pub for a change in scene on one of the nights.
Good parking.
Would recommend and return on a future visit.

Cons:

Not much except the bed was an English double which is small and cramped. A queen size bed would be much better and the room was big enough to easily accommodate it.
Also note that the bar closes down by 10pm which was not a problem for us as we were already there having used the restaurant but could be a negative if you eat somewhere else and returned hoping for a nightcap.

Super comfy bedroom, enjoying a very good meal in the most charming surroundings.
Pros:

I stayed for one night travelling home from a business meeting. I had dinner which was delightful. I needed to leave early so chose not to have breakfast. It was my 3rd visit. Very welcoming and a lovely varied menu.

Cons:

Everything was lovely.

Pros:

staff were fab, we arrived on Sunday afternoon, after I think a very busy few days. We were the only ones due to dine in the evening but that was nice, we had proper full tall candle and service. We were a little bit hip and had a cocktail but lovely staff admitted not really done one before but it would be great to do, she did really well and smashed it. Food delicious, milk bread is a yum also bread with the cheese. Sea trout on menu is a rare delight and as a cornish fisherman's daughter this was a memory for me. Bee pollen and fennel seed pork loin, figs. After's was a sheer thin apple tarte with a tiny rose flavour custard, my husband ate this in 2 seconds. I ordered the camembert which arrived baked, a surprise that was not on the menu but a delight, lovely malt type bread to dip, crispy local honeycomb to add with pickled grapes the best!

Cons:

Our room was the lowest end price, all ok other than high windows and very hot due to the weather, but asked and given addition fans for room. Extra extension lead with maybe usb ports in it would be good as limited on where sockets were, I was commando crawling under the bed to find sockets.

A beautiful countryside escape.
Pros:

Beautiful hotel, set in gorgeous grounds with peacocks, chickens and ducks wandering around- just lovely.
Great location for exploring either on foot or by car. The restaurant was excellent too- highly recommend.

Cons:

The staff varied quite considerably from a super warm welcome on the Friday when we checked in to a rather snooty, aloof lady on the Saturday back to friendly warm breakfast staff in the mornings. A shame the standard of warm service was inconsistent.

Pros:

It has character, it was in a good location for what we needed.
The room was lovely and spacious and a nice big bathroom.

Cons:

The gardens were big but we couldn’t let our dog run around as the owners had goods.
Luckily we used the park over the road and there was a footpath on the other side.

Geen omweg waard
Pros:

Het personeel was meestal vriendelijk.

Cons:

We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay, and would certainly stay at the hotel again but would be reluctant to have
Pros:

The hotel was very comfortable, clean and relaxing, having milk and water in the fridge was good. The staff were friendly and very accommodating and the hotel was set in beautiful gardens.

Cons:

The breakfast was excellent
Unfortunately we were disappointed with dinner on Saturday night, the pastry on my friends main course was uncooked and inedible and I saw no evidence of mussels and samphire on my fish. We did mention this at the time.

Overall a very enjoyable stay. Comfortable rooms and lovely food,
Pros:

Lovely hotel, comfortable room and very good food with friendly helpful staff.

Cons:

Internet didn’t really work in either the room or restaurant. Only seemed to work in bar area.
Breakfast only started at 8:30 on Saturday which was a bit later than we would have liked. It meant there were a lot of folk all wanting breakfast at 8:30 which meant service was a little slow.
