Great location in a vibrant city!
Pros:

Hotel Opera was a pleasant surprise.
After reading the reviews, I was a bit nervous. But, fortunately, it was much better than I had read.
I had a single room on the third floor, clean and comfortable.
The location is perfect, very close to the cathedral. Other attractions are also in walking distance.
The hotel is a perfect spot to visit Köln.

Cons:

Unfortunately, there was some noise from other hotel guests, but it was weekend and people were having fun. I wonder whether the hotel can be held accountable for some guests' lack of common sense...

I did not like the coffee I had for breakfast there, I did not expect to find such bad Robusta coffee anywhere, not to mention in a hotel.

Pros:

The location was great. The staff weren't overly engaged, but nice overall. The rooms were modern and good value for money.

Cons:

There is a "safe" room in the main hotel where you can store your baggage. It was quite messy, and the floor was sticky. At first, we were surprised that every guest could get in just with the code and theoretically take any baggage. Turned out the code wasn't necessary after all. The door didn't close automatically, and when we came back, it was wide open. Fortunately, all our belongings were still there.
What was worse, though, was that one of the rooms developed an extreme smell of excretions that must have come out of the shower over night. When we went to the counter, the staff told us to write an email to the manager as they can't do anything about it but to send the cleaning staff (which would've made any sense as we were leaving). When we wrote the manager, we got the response that we should've told the staff (which we did). Replying that we did actually do that, we got no response.

Pros:

Das Frühstück war gut; die Dame, die sich darum gekümmert hat, war sehr, sehr nett.
Das Hotel ist vom Bahnhof aus gut zu Fuß zu erreichen.
Wer für einen guten Preis nicht zu viel erwartet, ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben.

Pros:

Der Eingangsbereich und die "Lobby" sind eher unauffällig und der Zugang zu den Zimmer führt durch eine Treppenhaus. Aber die Zimmer sind toll und haben für die Lage ein fantastisches Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Fahrradkeller vorhanden. Frühstück haben wir nicht genommen, da das Hotel direkt in der Köllner Altstadt liegt.

Schöner Aufenthalt in Köln.
Pros:

Die Lage ist super. Die Zimmer sind zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Das Frühstück war gut. Das Personal sehr freundlich.

Cons:

Im Bad gab es nur eine Badewanne zum Duschen. Es war sehr glatt beim Aussteigen aus der Wanne.
