Hotel Otsunami

The staff were truly exceptional, went above and beyond. The rooms were huge and look way better than the pictures. The breakfast was the most generous I have had on my trip. The shower and water pressure were incredible, better than my own home. Located on the beach as well as central in Avepozo. It is a shocker it is not always fully booked. I know it is rated 9 but it is still underrated if you ask me. Great wifi as well.

The location is a major plus—tucked away from the hectic traffic of downtown Lomé, it offers direct access to quiet, sandy streets just steps from the ocean. Daily life here is relaxing and enjoyable for families. One of our favorite features was the garden. It is a fresh oasis of lush greenery that provides the perfect, serene setting for breakfast and dinner.
What truly sets this place apart, however, is the staff. Their professionalism, warmth, and respectful service made all the difference during our stay. Adolphe, Williams, and Clarisse went above and beyond, always available to support us—even with small daily errands.Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, stress-free family getaway along the Togolese coast!

Delicious breakfast, a calm location for intimate stay.

Wir waren sehr überrascht von der hervorragenden Gastfreundschaft von Hotel Otsunami. Das Personal ist unglaublich zuvorkommend und freundlich. Die Speisekarte ist europäisch-lokal und die Gerichte schmecken fantastisch. Besonders begeistert waren wir vom freundlichen Eigentümer des Hotels: kurz vor der Reise mussten wir feststellen, dass etwas mit unserem Visa nicht stimmte und der Eigentümer bemühte sich wirklich außerordentlich um uns und rief für uns beispielsweise bei den Behörden an, um den Fehler herauszufinden. Das Hotel liegt in einem sehr ruhigen uns schönen Gegend, etwas außerhalb des Stadtzentrums - es lohnt sich sehr diese Gegend zu wählen, aufgrund der Nähe zum Strand, zu dem man morgens oder abends einfach leicht spazieren kann.

The AC is ice cold. The internet is fast. Beer is always available at the reception counter. Whats not to like? Location is nicely outside of the center of town. Easy access for those of us coming from Cotonou.

Charming little guesthouse

Very Cold A/C, Hot Water, Clean, Quiet, and Good WIFI. Has become my go-to spot in Lomé. Better than the other places I stayed in the same price point category.

The architecture, the garden, the staff and the pool area (we had it to ourselves!) were amazing.
Toto and his staff were brilliant and attentive, and this hotel is a lovely oasis of calm from the busy streets of the local area. I wouldn’t hesitate in coming back. We also found a lovely bar about 15 mins walk away (it had no name) and we used it as a break away from the hotel (not that you need to) at about 5pm until the sun set ❤️
Everything about Hotel Otsunami was amazing. Oh, and the food was great!!!!

Absolutely welcoming and familiar atmosphere, lovely designed rooms and garden with restaurant and pool, very clean - a real oasis to relax after a busy day in Lomé
When I was ill, they brought me medicine from the pharmacy and took care of me. Amazing place!

Un lieu magnifique avec un jardin arboré et une piscine intimiste, parfait pour se ressourcer.
Les chambres sont superbes, bien décorées, confortables, avec air conditionné, et une salle de bain au top où tout fonctionne parfaitement.
La cuisine est excellente, du petit-déjeuner aux repas.
Le personnel est d’une grande gentillesse, et Toto, le patron belgo-togolais, est un vrai bonheur humain : chaleureux, attentionné et toujours aux petits soins.
Une adresse que l’on quitte avec le sourire… et l’envie de revenir.

Good

Very helpful and friendly staff, open to guests' needs. A wonderful lady chef, a sorceress who wonderfully prepares fish, lobsters, langoustine and gambas. Heaven in your mouth.
