Location, premises and staff all very good, let down by restaurant.
Pros:

Generally hotel very good.

Cons:

Very poor fish and chips in restaurant (four people agree). (Monday 12 October) Bill reduced by 50% but it's not about the cost - it was just a poor meal.

Another wonderful stay at Hotel Indigo, Durham

So near to the centre of Durham, the building is truly lovely almost art deco style, each room is different and quirky

Not worth the price
Pros:

Good central location . Staff at reception are very nice and a beautiful building

Cons:

Bed was rock hard. Bar staff were quite surly. Forgot to order our breakfast so waited for ages. Thought it was expensive

A good hotel in an excellent location
Pros:

Great location in an interesting building. Staff were helpful rather than overly friendly and the room was clean, comfortable and had everything needed.

Cons:

It did have a lot of security doors, however, I’d rather be safe.

Brilliant place to stay

Excellent place to stay centre of Durham
Pros:

Stunning building ..we had 11 rooms and they were all roomy and well equipped ..also had character
Staff very friendly and helpful
Lots of restaurants in short walking distance
Also a really good neighbourhood cafe within the hotel which was great if only want smaller breakfast or coffees in morning

Overall a very nice stay but just a little bit spoilt by the poor view from our room.
Pros:

Great location . Good food and lovely hotel with lots of atmosphere.

Cons:

Although the room was excellent internally the view was very poor . Looking over the hotel roof A/C plant wasn’t what was expected.

Hotel is great but avoid the restaurant. Better restaurants available locally.
Pros:

Very comfortable standard room with everything you could need. Helpful front desk staff. On site parking although you have to pay for it. Perfect location to mooch around Durham and see the sites.

Cons:

Don't normally use hotel restaurants but I was knackered after a long drive so I chanced the Marco Pierre White restaurant. TBH I didn't really enjoy the bar and dining experience. Ordered a dry martini and got a tumbler of just the dry vermouth with an ice cube. Would have expected any experienced bar tender to know a dry martini required gin and an olive 🙄. Chose a fillet steak lyonnaise the steak was good but the sauce far too salty. Also for £34 you'd expect some vegetables but instead had to order extra veg and got a cup of frozen peas and some fried new potatoes when they were supposed to be boiled. Not a great wine list either. Waiting staff were very attentive but the whole "celebrity chef" experience was underwhelming.

Just one niggle!
Pros:

Nearness to the river, cathedral and castle. Easy parking. Great architecture. Nice food served in a stunning setting. Above all, such cheerful and attentive staff.

Cons:

Only niggle - as is the case with so many hotels - only one armchair in our room - and a superior one! We like to spend some time reading whilst away - it's a rare treat - but sitting on the bed, no matter how comfortable it is, is far from ideal. Even more so when you are in your seventies!

Enjoyable stay in a great location.
Pros:

Excellent location. Super friendly staff. Historic unique building.

Cons:

Breakfast was disappointing. There was a strange smell in some of the public areas. Parking was expensive.
