Stunning Character Building. Excellent location. A real gem
Location and history and staff
Not clean - overpriced for what u get
Should not be a 4 star
Needs a good scrub
Room only booking. fantastic room and building. Comfortable bed, spotless bathroom
no real faults
Our room needed new led bulbs as it was quite dark and next to the lift
Location is convenient to reach the main destinations. I did not have breakfast at the hotel. I did have trouble finding my room upon arrival. They need to improve the signs for us to find our room more easily. Overall, the hotel was quite good. However, I was not impressed with Durham and disagree with the Michelin guide giving it a three-star rating. A two-tar is
all it deserves.

The building and the breakfast room
The room could have been larger
Booking Ref: 28027019 - I booked a fmaily room for 4 people, I have 1 adult child and a 14 yr old. The room advertised as a 4 person occupancy which suits us however after I booked the confirmation arrived with only 2 people. When I rang to enquire they suggested there was an issue because one of my children was an adult and the other not. I asked if they discriminated against families when booking a room for 4 people which of course they said they didn't. After a wait on hold I was told it was all sorted my kids had been added and a confirmation email would be sent. A few moments later I received a confirmation that the room was now booked for 3 adults only and £50 charge had been added. Seriously? Room cancleed, IHG to be avopided in future, I've booked over the road at the Delta, no issues!
Excellent location
Very nice room and bathroom was first class, especially the walk-in shower with press button operation
Breakfast excellent, well cooked and a good range of menu choices

Wonderful location, stylish rooms, friendly welcome.
Wooden floor in room above meant some noise from neighbours
Lovely hotel break in very convenient city centre location, lovely decor, very comfortable beds and great breakfast
Parking cost is quite high
We stayed at Hotel Indigo for our wedding night in one of the premium rooms, and it was perfect for such a special occasion. The room itself was fantastic, with plenty of space and a beautiful freestanding bath. What really makes this hotel stand out is its history and original features. Rather than feeling like a standard hotel room, it feels like a thoughtful and sensitive conversion of a historic building. The character and charm made our stay very memorable.
The staff were all exceptional and played a huge part in making our experience so good. I would highly recommend Hotel Indigo for a special occasion or simply for anyone looking for a unique hotel experience with outstanding service.
Great location. Beautiful building. Spacious room. Delicious breakfast choices.
Nothing.
