Room was a nice size.
I requested a cot for my baby and asked multiples times and just got ignored.
Location. Walking distance to shops and tram stops.
A bit noisy on weekends but as expected with pub below.
Very convenient stay in the center of south Melbourne. Very easy to get to and well connected to all the main areas.
Perfect location and had an early check in which was a bonus ..
Lumpy pillows and foyer smelt musty and no housekeeping
The room was very comfortable and spacious. The double glazed windows blocked out most of the noise from the pub below and from the rooftop pub. The security staff were very friendly and interactive. The location was very central to the market, a variety of good restaurants and in walking distance to the south bank. The bathroom was good too. Great city views.
The lift was out of order so a risk that one may be stuck for a while. The restaurant wouldn't allow us to borrow a jug of water. Maybe there should be a filtered water station available near reception for the hotel guests.
Position, beds, room size, shower was awesome. We will be back
Location
It needed some form of lounge chair in there. There was plenty of room. In the bathroom, i couldnt hang the wash cloth and the tray to put soap/shampoo/ conditioner was falling off.
A little far from CBD area if you are here for business in that area, have to cross river and about 10min straight down walk to Southern Cross Station. Was acceptable for me as weather was nice, but could have been a stress if it was raining.
Plenty of food options around the hotel and great access to the supermarket so was able to substantially lower the travel cost. These days even buying a bottle of water could be costly so buying in bulk at cheap cost was a savior.
The room was an absolute minimum equipped but was sufficient for me. Pretty big fridge so plenty of capacity to keep food bought in the supermarket. Furniture was old but it was kept clean. Shower booth was renovated and no problem with hot shower(actually much much better than higher cost hotels).
Missed to arrive before the reception close but the staff was accessible via WhatsApp and was very swift in providing a room key (entry code) so not as stressful as expected.
Overall, very satisfactory stay for a money.
Most challenging for an old person like me is that front reception is only available from 10am to 3pm. Outside of that you have to receive an entry code to get into the venue. Like I mentioned, it was not stressful and the service desk was swift in providing the code. Could be intimidating for people not good in English to call up service desk to ask for help.
Also it's a bit tough to find a way into the reception. You can't really find the entrance at first sight. I had to enter the bar to ask for the access. It was an afternoon so bar was pretty relaxed and bar staffs were kind to show me the way into the reception. Could have been pretty intimidating if I was to arrive in the evening/night hours with many drunk people having fun.
The ground floor has a bar open until late at night. Music and people conversation noise can get into your room. I personally don't feel stress from those noises but could be stressful to some and maybe intimidating for foreign or female travelers.
The desk lighting was broken and couldn't use so that was a let down too for a paper and pen person like me. But I didn't try asking for a fix, so to be fair it could have been resolved very quick judging from the swiftness of their response.
Again, a great stay for a cost.
i well go back soon
all the shops and the south Melbourne market
Talk about location, location, location. The room
Was beautiful and very comfortable. I felt safe at the hotel. The shower was great - water pressure was amazing. Even though the room was above a hotel with live music, you could easily sleep though the noise. The outside traffic and pedestrian noise was minimal to non-existent. I will be back and will definitely refer others to the hotel.
It’s not that I didn’t like the property - it’s a suggestion or two to make it even more out-standing! Bedside lights would be awesome so you don’t have to turn out the lights then get into bed. Secondly, an armchair and coffee table would be great to relax after a day exploring Melbourne.
Good location and price. Easy to organise late check-in
excellent location for our needs
no reception and no-one to speak with easily if there is a problem
