Beautiful hotel
Air conn in room was not easy to operate , room kept getting really hot !
Fantastic location. Excellent service. A great place to stay and enjoy the serenity of Edinburgh as a family. Memorable experience. Surprised at how easy for city commute through tram and buses and taste great food in Edinburgh.

The location is excellent, right in the middle of St Andrew Square, this is 2 minute walk away from any kind of restaurant, eatery, pubs etc. The choice of eateries around this place is amazingly diverse - Indian, Italian, Mexican, Pubs, Chinese, Continental, etc. And all of them of very good quality. The Hop-on Hop-off bust stop is right in front of of the hotel. Ubers are super easy to get. It is walking distance from the Royal Mile, Princes Street etc. Natalie and Lilita the front desk, and their colleagues were amazingly helpful, every single time.
The bed and linen were super clean and hygienic. Staff is amazingly warm and super efficient. In fact they converted what could otherwise have been a disappointing room experience into a warm, comfortable stay.
The room we took was a high end Suite. The living room of the suite was awesomely spacious and well structured, the bedroom of the suite was very tiny and very little space to even walk around the bed. The bedroom had two cupboards, but the wiggle room was so tiny that we could not keep our baggages there. We had to request for baggage stands and keep it in the living room. The lighting in the room could do with a little more brightness.
The hotel does not have a 24/7 restaurant. Not even 24/7 in-room dining. The in-room dining closes at 9.30 PM. So you have to plan you dinner evenings and possibly keep some food in the room for if you are hungry or feel like a coffee later. The breakfast is also a la carte and not buffet. Vegan options food is limited.
The bathroom is spacious, but the shower area did not have even a railing for seniors to hold on to when stepping out of the bath. This is seriously dangerous and they could slip as the floor is smooth.

Between the 6th of May & 9th of May 2026 my wife & I were invited back to stay at the Edinburgh Grand after a less than impressive first visit, however on this occasion it couldn't of been more different.
We were warmly greeted by Gary (Hotel General Manager) & Jo (Head Concierge) at the door upon arrival,and this theme was consistent throughout our stay by not only them but the staff on the 4th floor (breakfast /afternoon tea room). This made you feel like you were staying with family rather than a hotel.
Our room 606 was one bedroom suite, clean, modern and contemporary, however a couple of hooks or stylish coat stand wouldn't of gone a miss during our stay. The team then went the extra mile, by having a tailored complimentary package including flowers from the hotel management due to my wife celebrating her birthday, it really was appreciated by her and was a nice personal touch that wasn't expected.
During our stay we experienced relaxed breakfast service in the historic atmosphere of the room within the building, I then worked it off using the excellent gym facilities on site.It also centrally located is ideal for anyone visiting like ourselves or on Business, we will definitely recommending it to others within our family & friends circle group.
Therefore we would have no hesitation in returning in the future and may even bring our furry daughter with us next time, as we found out that some of the rooms are dog friendly.

قمت بحجز سويت معين تفاجأت بشقه مجدده مختلفه عن حجزي بعد تسجيل الوصول نزلت بلغتهم اخبروني ان السويت الذي حجزته غير متوفر يومها ومحجوز من اشخاص اخرين!!! ولأني كنت تعبان من السفر رضيت بنوم تلك الليله بعد تأكيدهم لي أنني سأقوم بالانتقال باليوم التالي للسويت الذي قمت بحجزه من الأساس !!! حدثت لي حالة وفاة في العائله اضطررت المغادره مبكراً وأبلغتهم بذالك لإلغاء آخر ليلة متبقيه كذبو علي واخبروني ان الخيار ليس من عندهم ولكن من بوكينج وبوكينج يقول انه من الفندق نفسه عموماً لم أهتمّ كثيراً لأنني كنت منشغل بالعزاء ولكن ارسلو لي بعدها فاتوره دون إلغاء الليله الاضافيه وقامو كذالك باضافه مشروبات ريد بول لم اطلبها. تجربة خايسه لاتغرك الديكورات المشكله في الاداره لديهم
Was upgraded for free which was a huge surprise and greatly appreciated. Staff were amazing. Reception helped me with issues with booking.com and could not stop assisting. The breakfast room and food was like a 5 star restaurant, the staff were so great and went out of their way to ensure breakfast order was correct. The staff lift was broken but the reception gentleman moved 2 heavy suitcases up stairs from level 1 to level 2. Legend.
Our stay was only 3 nights. Could have stayed much longer.
Having traveled extensively around the world and experienced many luxury hotels, we can confidently say that this stay was truly outstanding. From the very first moment, everything reflected the highest level of quality and attention to detail.
The room and bathroom were impeccably designed, with every element thoughtfully selected and of premium standard. The service was flawless — attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience.
Perfectly located in the heart of the city, the hotel is set in a beautifully restored historic bank building, which adds a unique sense of character and elegance. The blend of architectural heritage and sophisticated design creates a truly special atmosphere.
We would recommend this hotel without hesitation and would be delighted to return for another stay.
