Very beautiful location and it feels a million miles away 2026! Takes you to a slower pace of life, where nature helps soothe the nervous system.
The jacuzzi/whirlpool bath was a real treat!!
Air con in the room was pure luxury!
We stayed in the Hutton Suite which was very lovely and well thought out. How, there was a hole in the duvet cover where the seam was ripped. The room whilst generous proportions, the carpet has a few stains on it.
We came down for dinner that we’d booked for the orangery and was relocated to the dining room which wasn’t really an issue. What we did find a little annoying was that we’d arrived for our dinner reservation a couple of minutes before the allocated time and was told to wait in reception. A member of staff came by around five minutes later and told us to just wait a little longer to be seated as she was just in the middle of a job. Whilst we were waiting for her to return an older couple went straight in and seated! We waited for approximately 10-15 minutes to be seated whilst other guests were going in! We just found it very very odd we were singled out to wait in the reception. I am disabled so standing around is quite difficult.
In the morning we attended for breakfast and were given the menu. I chose the eggs Benedict and my husband had the Yorkshire breakfast. We weren’t made aware that you could order something else that was not offered on the menu. We heard other patrons asking for breakfast plates that were not listed on the menu; again we felt that we were not being made aware that you could ask for something not listed. I really fancied a bacon sandwich and had I known that I could have had one, if I asked, I would have ordered one.
The eggs Benedict would have marvellous had it not been for the wafer thin sandwich ham. On the menu it read as though the ham you’d receive would be a thicker slice of Yorkshire ham. Being a five star hotel, I’d assumed the ham would have been locally sourced and hand carved. It felt/tasted like supermarket bought sandwich ham.
This feedback is not intended to be picky, just to highlight some inconsistencies which with better communication and expectation management can be easily resolved.
Great stay, with lovely room. The food was fantastic. Great location.
Fantastic Staff , Rooms were very nice, view of the gardens brilliant.
Food and hospitality excellent ,brilliant experience to relax.

The manor is gorgeous and the owners seem to be trying to create a luxury weekend stay. But we didn’t get that memo. We were treated with neutrality. We never felt special or really welcomed. We were sort of just there. Perhaps it’s because we reserved through Booking.com. We do get that often. There was nothing but ordinary in the service which meant I am not likely to ever return.
Old building, no lift we were told. Except for the hidden lift, apparently saved for guest who said no stairs.
Wonderful helpful staff with lovely restaurant or patio overlooking the garden.
Beautiful location, stunning building and spectacular gardens. The staff are really friendly and helpful - and smiley!!
Goldsborough Hall just magnificent and the grounds well maintained
Just that our pillows were too soft but apart from that we had a great stay
Luxury accomodation in great location for visiting Knaresborough. Spotlessly clean and great views from the garden room. Beautiful gardens including the 'Woodland walk'. Lovely Yorkshire breakfast. Great price for this level of luxury.
Nothing-for us it was perfect
Beautiful hotel and gardens
Nothing
Lovely overall stay, enjoyed a nice walk around the grounds and kitchen garden. Garden team took the time for a quick chat to answer questions which was nice.
Arrived much later than anticipated due to unforeseen circumstances with trains being cancelled. Restaurant was closed but would have been nice if we were offered a sandwich or toast even as we were very tired and hungry.
Beautiful house and magnificent garden.
Nothing, it’s stunning and feels friendly and welcoming.
I took my wife to Goldsborough Hall for her 65th birthday over the weekend this was our first ever time and on arrival we were looked after instantly within ten minutes we were shown to our room which was the lovely Hanson room overlooking the beautiful gardens and countryside!
Our bedroom was situated on the top floor and it was very big with probably the biggest bed we have ever slept in, it was so nice and cosy, in the bathroom we had a lovely shower and separate jacuzzi bath which was a nice added extra.
The hall was very quiet with not a lot of people staying on this Sunday night but we absolutely loved it as there were two very large sitting rooms where you could have a drink, read a book or relax whilst listening to the gentle music playing in the background, this was very soothing for those wanting to de-stress.
The food here is very good although we did have a problem with our main course which was quickly rectified by the friendly young lady who was multi-tasking between the bar and restaurant this particular night.
In the morning we went down for breakfast which for both me and my wife this rates as one of the best breakfasts we have had over the years, the cooked breakfast was superb with everything either local or home grown and again the staff service was excellent!...The young girl who was waiting on our table was very polite and courteous giving us plenty of time to pick and help choose what we wanted.
The grounds outside are a delight and the only sounds you could hear were from the cows or lambs in the fields or the birds in the trees it was really peaceful and a great place to get away for a very peaceful break.
It was a shame about the cloudy weather and rain on the morning we left but we will definitely be booking again later this year if not sooner now we have found this hidden gem in the sleepy village of Goldsborough!
Beautiful grounds and lounges.
Was a bit too quiet on a Thursday night and we almost had the Orangery restaurant to ourselves. A bit strange. The rooms facing what is described as the ‘inner courtyard ‘ are in fact facing the service yard so a bit noisy.
The breakfast (Yorkshire fried breakfast) was excellent, very well cooked.
The location was very good as we were stopping over from our trip in Scotland back to Thaxted, Essex
The grounds were beautifully maintained and the flower beds were amazing, I’m jealous.
The room was cosy as stated but the bed & pillows were so comfortable. The bathroom was small but had a bath/shower. Overall the room was good value for money.
Staff were very helpful and friendly
