Hotel was lovely , clean , very warm and cozy, room was lovely and staff are really polite and friendly , breakfast was amazing and piping hot with a good cooked selection, good coffee
I didnt like that the room has a book that tells you that you cant eat or drink in the room unless you order room service that stops around 8-8:30 and really expensive, no food or drink to be consumed or brought in from outside, most people head away for the weekend and head out at night for a few drinks and pick up a small takeout on way back to hotel , but here you need to stand outside in the rain and eat before you go in to ask for you key again , i also didn't like that every time you head out to the shops or a walk ect that you need to leave your key at the front desk , that anyone could pick up as not always staffed , also felt like it was to watch if we where bringing any food or drinks in , as came in and i think it was the lady owner that was trying to see what was in my bag , breakfast juice and water ect could have been getting topped up regularly as i had to ask the boy if he could top them up to be asked what one , why not just top up apple, orange and water as three glasses out them and its empty again , i wasn't the only person to ask , bed was uncomfortable as mattress was collapsed in , there is also two clubs outside and a police station, so can be noisy late at night

Booked a room that was advertised on the booking.com site and was given a much smaller room and when i asked for a partial refund i outright was refused even though it wasnt the room i booked and paid for! Scamming customers asking them to pay for rooms advertised on website that are not available at the hotel. Misleading and fradulent. Do not book this place. Staff and management uncooperative and rude.

Noise from nightclub/bar across the road. I realise that was why the room was so cheap and late availability. A Saturday night during the Mofest , so to be expected.

Room had a musty smell. Breakfast was basic. Young girl was very curt on arrival and looked like she couldn’t be bothered dealing with us!

We stayed for only two nights. The breakfast on the second morning was really good. Check in was quick and easy. Room requested was given to us. It was a short trip for my husband's 50th birthday. Not the first time there.
Not the first time there but more than likely the last. No updates have been made. Place needs a good paint job, new carpeting, and new beds. The bed was so uncomfortable, I was unable to sleep both nights as the lumps and what honestly felt like springs were digging into my back. By the time I got home, I was in a lot of pain. As for the staff, they look like they don't want to be there. The morning of the 1st breakfast, the boy couldn't even crack a smile, spoke very dull, and I had to track him down for missing items from our order. The porridge was dry and lumpy as if it was sitting for hours. Housekeeping on the first morning, did not knock and opened the door slightly before I had to say we were still in the room. Housekeeping was extremely noisy in the morning and could wake the dead with how loud they were. Don't understand why they are on the floors so early. This hotel has a lot of potential if done up and done properly. A fresh coat of paint does wonders.
