My stay at The George Hotel
Pros:

It within walking distance from the railway station
The breakfast was really good ,it set you up for the day
The room was clean and bed comfortable

Cons:

It was a little noisy from the traffic during late evening and early morning

We booked this hotel as it was an easy drive to the parkrun.
Pros:

Easy parking. Free tea and coffee available all day. On site restaurant for dinner which was good.

A building so old and rundown it’s a mystery it’s still standing

We stayed for only two nights. The breakfast on the second morning was really good. Check in was quick and easy. Room requested was given to us. It was a short trip for my husband's 50th birthday. Not the first time there.

Cons:

Not the first time there but more than likely the last. No updates have been made. Place needs a good paint job, new carpeting, and new beds. The bed was so uncomfortable, I was unable to sleep both nights as the lumps and what honestly felt like springs were digging into my back. By the time I got home, I was in a lot of pain. As for the staff, they look like they don't want to be there. The morning of the 1st breakfast, the boy couldn't even crack a smile, spoke very dull, and I had to track him down for missing items from our order. The porridge was dry and lumpy as if it was sitting for hours. Housekeeping on the first morning, did not knock and opened the door slightly before I had to say we were still in the room. Housekeeping was extremely noisy in the morning and could wake the dead with how loud they were. Don't understand why they are on the floors so early. This hotel has a lot of potential if done up and done properly. A fresh coat of paint does wonders.

Perfect place to stay for access to the Mearns.
Pros:

Very friendly and helpful staff. Puppy given a great welcome and found a dog bed, bowl and treats in the room waiting for her. Good breakfast. Easy to get to both St Cyrus and Lunan beaches from here.

A very comfortable place to stay and staff and food was super.
Pros:

The property was ideal for us. We needed a local hotel for a wedding we were going to just outside Montrose. It’s a traditional old style hotel but was very comfortable.
