Would definitely stay again

Light, bright, clean and beautiful was the impression when we walked in and we were not disappointed with our room or the food and service.

Pros:

Location, cleanliness, service and dining including pub and included breakfast. Definitely a wonderful place to hold a wedding reception with to banquet/party rooms. Or to stay for a special occasion.

Cons:

Price was high especially when compared to Airbnb with size and included amenities.
The common areas were left looking a little rough with the worn dirty appearance of carpets. The room and WC were small and the many stairs to 3rd floor with no elevator was less than enjoyable with having some temporary mobility issues.
We don't need the restaurant to be on site and like having at least a little fridge but even better if with a little freezer too.

Pros:

A well kept hotel which is handy for visiting Dunfries House. A well stocked bar was most welcome and the food in the restaurant was pretty good. Car parking was free and easy.

Cons:

Nothing, though I've slept in more comfortable beds.

Evening meal and breakfast was good

Cons:

Genally dingy, with well worn carpet. Bed (room 16) was too had and a bit lumpy for me. Also the duvet was too hot for such a warm night.

Great hotel. Throughly enjoyed our stay
Pros:

Lovely little hotel close to Dumfries house which we were visiting. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast and evening meal were both lovely, again with great service. Would definitely recommend
