Pedro Falcao was absolutely superb. His walking tour was fabulous. Great knowledge of the history of Lisbon. Very helpful during our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend the Biaxa hotel.

Felt very welcomed and experienced excellent customer service. Breakfast was delicious and they went above and beyond to celebrate my mom’s birthday at breakfast with cake and champagne. Couldn’t have been more satisfied and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Love the location - it’s central to walk around and explore but … just be careful not to go eat at any of the restaurants on the streets where they have menus with pictures.

Our walking tour with Pedro ended up taking close to 3 hours… because he so generously went into so many stories and history and insights. Priceless!

Love the fact that the hotel provides small benefits - complimentary coffee, sparkling wine and snacks. It’s the small little things that counts.

Reception staff were exceptional, especially (A) Luis, I think he was a manager, so thoughtful and helpful. Really enjoyed their suggestions for restaurants etc. Rooms were spacious and I loved the refreshments downstairs. The walking tour with Pedro was a great addition. Highly recommend. Area was phenomenal.

This hotel certainly deserves its #1 rating on TripAdvisor. The location is excellent but without the guidance of Pedro Falcao (Guest Services Manager) and all the excellent front desk, restaurant and bar staff, it could be a little overwhelming. This hotel is right in the heart of the action, with tourist-trap restaurants and shops everywhere.
The first day that we arrived, we explored on our own and were underwhelmed with everything, but we woke up the next morning with a positive attitude and a desire to continue our trip with a clean slate. After an excellent breakfast at the hotel, we signed up for the free, guided Walking Tour led by Pedro. While Pedro indicated that he wasn't a tour guide, he created the 1 1/2-hour tour as a service to all guests so they could learn about Lisbon's history and the various points of interest he included.
Pedro was very interactive with all members of my family and we all appreciated the depth of knowledge he had on so many diverse topics relating to Portugal. Two and a half hours after our tour started, we all sat in the bar for a glass of wine and a shot of Licor de Ginja. I was literally stunned by what I had just experienced. This free tour turned my entire family from underwhelmed by Lisbon to excited to continue exploring the city and its surrounding sites.
Over the next few days, we had multiple positive experiences with so many other staff members who were dedicated to making our stay memorable. I can literally think of at least ten times when staff exceeded my expectations. Also, Pedro was constantly proactively checking in to see how he could help us in any way, whether it was arranging a tour to Sintra and Cascais or helping us get tickets to the Benfica football match.
This is a special hotel full of special people. They have raised the standards of exceptional customer service. When in Lisbon again, I will definitely return to Hotel da Baixa.

Lovely 5 star boutique hotel. Good location within walking distance to most places of interest . Go on the complimentary walking tour with Pedro, he is a wealth of knowledge and proud of his city. Would stay here again. Use uber to get to hotel from the sea port, the taxi driver will charge you extra for carrying and transporting your luggage!!! Also with advance notice the kitchen will pack you a breakfast box if you have an early flight to catch. This is a gem of a hotel!!!

The hotel was perfect—very comfortable with all the amenities you could think of, warm and friendly staff, great location in the heart of Lisbon. We especially enjoyed our complimentary walking tour with Pedro Falcao, guest services manager. The tour was the perfect way to start our vacation in Lisbon. Great value for the money spent.

Location was excellent for exploring the city, parking was effortless even without onsite parking the valet service was incredible they even took our bags all the way to hotel from the local parking spot, rooms were very spacious and comfortable, complimentary snacks and drinks.

We had an amazing stay in Lisbon and absolutely loved this hotel! From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed and comfortable. The hotel itself was beautiful, the location was great, and the staff were always friendly, helpful, and made our stay so enjoyable.

A special mention has to go to Pedro, who truly went above and beyond for us. He gave us an exceptional walking tour around the area near the hotel, which was such a great way to experience and learn more about Lisbon. Throughout the rest of our stay, he was always incredibly kind and helpful and made an effort to talk to us whenever he saw us. He even remembered things we had told him during the walking tour and would ask us about them later, which made the experience feel so personal and welcoming.

We genuinely loved our time here and felt so well taken care of throughout our stay. Between the hotel itself, the location, and the wonderful staff, this was one of the highlights of our trip. Pedro was definitely one of the main reasons I would happily return. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lisbon!

Just back from my first trip to Lisbon and had a wonderful time from start to finish at Hotel da Baixa. All the staff were professional and responsive, check in was quick, and my room was available even though I arrived before 4pm.

Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice each morning, and the restaurant was great on the day I used it for dinner. The air conditioning in my room was perfect, as was the shower with superb water pressure. Bed very comfortable too. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location within walking distance of many top attractions.

The highlight was the complimentary group walking tour offered by Pedro, the Guest Services Manager. A perfect way to learn some really interesting history, get acquainted with top sights in central Lisbon, sample the wine and make new friends.

From the moment I booked, the staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and responsive. Any questions I had before arriving were answered quickly by email, which made planning my trip much easier. Throughout my stay, everyone I encountered was warm, welcoming, and eager to help.

Great way to learn history of Portugal !tour

Pedro’s tour through downtown Lisbon is excellent and unique. He invites you to discover the sites and culture of Lisbon. But more than that he provides you a chance to connect with other travelers and share travel experiences with each other and make new friends. We’ve done the tour each time we’ve visited Lisbon and we look forward to doing it next time.
