Pros:

Friendly staff

Cons:

Pet-friendliness and cleanliness doesn’t necessarily mix well! Those that don’t take their pets everywhere might notice it more!

Food great, frustrating manner of dealing with our situation.
Pros:

The food in the restaurant and breakfast was very good

Cons:

Hotels internet was not working (all day) when I tried to book a table for the evening in the restaurant (8pm) at 10am, the second email sent at 2pm was for 8.30pm due to poor traffic (travelled for over 8 hours by car). Based on the information issued by the hotel, the last orders are 8.30pm. We arrived at 8.15pm, waiting for another resident to conclude talking and after 10 minutes we were advised our email wasn't received, plus the restaurant stops serving at 8.30pm, contradictory to what the information is provided by the hotel (that is by either email communication and even notices in the hotel - last orders not stops serving...). After quite a battle primarily with one of the staff members (even advising that the notice clearly shown in the hotel, apparently never seen before by this member of staff..), we were allowed to order and had to still 'discuss' the fact that we also wanted sweet... The initial option we were offered was to order from a take away and we were allowed to eat it in the lounge 'on this occasion', which was 'very gracious' considering it was not our internet which had gone down and we did nothing wrong, as residents we just wanted to chill out and eat without such nonsense.

Pros:

Great location!
The hotel was well maintained with a lovely garden.
All the public areas of the hotel were clean.
The staff were all very helpful and friendly
We took our dog, who was also made welcome. The hotel had a small well fenced area for dogs to be off lead.

Cons:

I only have one small criticism.
The placement of furniture in our room made it difficult to use my hairdryer in front of a mirror.

Excellent 2 night stay
Pros:

Breakfast was very good, staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for us and our dog. Cream tea which we paid £24.95 including fizz, was huge, much bigger than we anticipated or expected. Our room was comfortable ( room 19) first night and then we changed as we stayed an extra night (room 34) slightly more expensive but bigger.

Cons:

Wifi issues after storm, but to be honest not really a massive issue. The only real issue was changing rooms. Checked out of first room, but couldn't then check back in to second room until 3pm which was inconvenient for us

Pros:

Mooie plek, prima hotel. Het is een beetje vergane glorie, maar dat is juist ook wel sfeervol. Erg vriendelijk personeel. Zwembad is prima! Goed restaurant, goed ontbijt.
