Beautiful looking property in a great location.
Unfortunately, we could hear people in the other rooms due to the age of the building. However, we have been told that they are going to be renovating it to include some soundproofing.
Warm welcome from Amy. Bed was very comfortable, everything was clean, and the view from the grounds was exceptional. One night stay was very relaxed, pet-friendly, ample parking for our motorcycles. Nice breakfast with gluten-free options available. We eat in the restaurant which also catered for gluten-free requirements.
Slightly out of town so quiet location
Some confusion around ordering and paying for food in the restaurant. Breakfast not served until 8am
A nice looking building with a good view and a nice pool
Needs a revamp in the shared bar and sitting areas. Breakfast was mediocre.
Location- historical building
The room in the photos for our booking were nothing similar to the actual room we got? Very misleading marketing
Breakfast was unbelievable. The annex room was amazing and nicely located
Stood at reception for 15 minutes when checking in with absolutely no staff around
The room was warm & very nice. It was very clean & the whole stay was perfect for us . The staff were very friendly & helpful.
If I were to change anything , It would be to give full table service in the restaurant. The food was very good . especially
the breakfast.
Restricted table service. If im paying , I like service.
Very friendly staff & location was fantastic
The wet room! We were staying in a superior room in the annex but the drainage in the bathroom was smelly!
Very dog friendly hotel. Swimming pool was nice. Staff was very friendly. Would definitely stay again.
One lady complaining about a dog barking in the garden. Dont stay at dog friendly hotels if you dont want to be around dogs.
How dog friendly it was.
Breakfast was OK but not great. Seemed a little short staffed during middle of day.
Beautiful surroundings and peaceful. Staff very friendly and always there if you need any help. Plenty of refreshments in room. Swimming pool a fantastic bonus. Very clean. Very dog friendly with enclosed space for fury friends. Will stay again
Having arrived after a long drive and with the warm weather, I was amazed by the garden and the huge entrance door. After that the stay went down hill. No receptionist to greet us, we waited patiently but no one came even though the bar staff could see us at reception. We then went to the bar and asked if we could check in and was told, "I'm on the bar not reception", this made is very unsettled and slightly angry. We then asked for a manager and was told, there was not manager on duty. this is a playground for school levers. Eventually someone did come and check us in and we went to our room and felt it was more like a Premier Inn. Hardly any furniture, no coat hangers. We checked the terms and conditions of the reservation but felt we had to stay as we wouldn't get any money back. We had a drink from the bar and the night porter poured the drinks. no froth on the pint of beer and instead of a medium, glass of wine I got a a small glass but was charged for a medium. When we mentioned this, the night porter (he said his name was Gordon) he will mention it to reception when they come in. I never did (Gordon, again during out stay).
This is a faulty towers hotel with no manager on sight in the evening, sub standard staff with no customer service skills and agency staff that just stand near the kitchen door smoking.
This hotel was perfect 6 years ago with qualified staff who talked to guests and made them feel welcome it's not like that now. Get some qualified staff and it will be a goof hotel,
The building is beautiful and the location is excellent for exploring the area. Gorgeous views of the lake. We were given a free upgrade to a superior room which was lovely. We were able to charge our electric car overnight in the car park as well.
Nothing
Good location and very clean Cottage apartment and grounds. Nice breakfast selection.
Floor in cottage apartment was a little slippery underfoot.
Staff were very helpful and friendly, good food and the garden was great, would definitely stay again.
Lovely looking hotel
Dog friendly outside spaces, but our room was horrible
Extremely HOT and stuffy room! (Room 27)
Which led to dog panting all night, unsettled 5month baby and no sleep for mum and dad!
Room had fans which did nothing to help (the heatwave had passed so no reason for this room to be so hot!)
During the end of breakfast they decided to clean behind the dishwashers, which created a disgusting smell!
With a manager whispering to the staff to get Febreze, obviously he didn’t want me to hear that
