We were here for a wedding and the room was OK but not up to a good standard.
Pros:

The room was small and not at all like their photograph which shows a much larger room with a sofa, the curtains were rather small and did not cover the window properly, but I did not touch them, there were also blinds and they were clean and did cover the window.
The room was clean as was the bathroom, the veneer on the bathroom door was flaking off, and the shower floor was badly marked with black stains. The towels were clean and white. There was toiletries provided so that was good.
We were asked if we wanted a ground floor room when we arrived so maybe that is why the room was not as the photograph. The hotel seemed to be in the process of repainting and maybe redecorating.
The breakfast was excellent with a choice of cereals, and a lovely 3 egg omelette and plenty of toast. There were breakfast drinks to choose from and you could take as much or as little as you wanted. The dining facilities were good but rather spoilt by the clutter of paints there as you walked in.

Cons:

Better curtains to cover the window properly, the bathroom door should be re-veneered and the shower floor should be removed and another floor put in altogether.
The clutter of pants should be removed from the dining room which rather spoilt the pleasant aspect of the room.

This hotel appears to be undergoing maintenance and refurbishment
Pros:

Within walking distance of the town, they is an ASDA express very close which is handy.
You are not rushed to vacate your room on your departure day.no don't leave until 11 am which worked for me.

Cons:

Design for the hotel is not visual from one direction of travel and the hotel location is easily missed.
Fronts at the front of the hotel are subjecting traffic noise that May be an issue to done

Decent Budget Accommodation
Pros:

Easy to check in. Good breakfast selection. Clean. Free parking. Accessible room. Pleasant staff.

Cons:

Room very small. Rough area. Quite noisy. Didn't know how to poach an egg! Mainly a contractors' hotel.

Clean. Newly refurbished. We would definetly stay again.
Pros:

The photos need updating as they have had a complete renovation. It looks absolutely amazing. Still a few things to do as i was told at check-in but it was clean and tidy. There is a petrol station 5 minutes away to get snacks. The staff were realky friendly.

Cons:

The toilet seat didnt fit. Felt a bit dirty using it with the base touching my legs. The shaving point cover was rusty. Breakfast finished early (7-8.30am). That should be extended. The blinds need replacing and the windows need cleaning.

Pros:

Room was comfortable & is currently under renovations so will be better in a few weeks, nice breakfast.

Cons:

Area is a little run down, the property is undergoing renovations, building equipment & boxes left in the restaurant area which doesn't look well, however im sure it will look great in a couple of weeks.

Pros:

Very clean room, great choice of breakfast options, close to Newport Town centre and only 5 minutes from the M4 junction. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Great value for money.
